I saw it some days ago and ordered a couple of DVDs. :)

I have seen it and the part on religion is very well put together, however the last part on 9/11 is a bit fuzzy... how it is being tied into the concept overall; but it is still very nicely done...

The part on religion may be put together well, but it's almost entirely made up. If they're going to lie about one part of the film, why not the rest?

How do you know this?

I've studied religions and the history of them extensively in life. It's a hobby of mine. Most of the stuff in that segment was utter bullshit. From Horus to many of the other religous icons that are compared to Jesus, the "facts" presented in their name are simply not true. Just look up some of the stuff and you'll see. You can find almost everything listed about Horus was bullshit.

Please give an example.

Lets start with Horus since he is the primary figure they relate to Jesus.

-He was not born of a virgin. His mother was Isis and father was Osiris.

-He was not born on the 25th of December, but instead on November 15.

-He was born in a swamp, not a cave. It also has no mention of a star in the east. There was also no mentiond of 3 wise men at the birth (it also doesn't mention in the bible that wise men attended the birth).

-He had four disciples, not 12. And 16 human followers. There is not one Egyptian scholar that can find any reference to the number 12 with him.

-There are no stories of him walking on water.

-He never taught in a temple and never got baptized.

-He was never crucified and thus never rose from the dead.

-The supposed conflict between him and Set being about a fight for day and night is total bullshit. Set was the desert god and night and day is explained by the eyes of Horus. He had one eye gouged out which represents the moon and the other which represents the Sun. While he did have epic battles with Set, they primarily explain the coming together of Upper and Lower Egypt and have nothing to do with a battle over night/day.


That's just on Horus alone. I'm not even getting into the other gods, zodiac stuff, and made up symbolism that was debunked hundreds of years ago. The religion stuff is pure crap and bullshit. If he lied about that stuff, why not lie about the rest of the movie?

When concepts are brought up to individuals who prize their own reality over all else; such concepts that effect their core of their being, will be discarded in favor of what will fit into their own understanding of their personal reality...

Such people who claim faith, but reject on principle others concepts by nature of non grounded replies; such are good indications that such people are brain washed, nearly completely.

No, this stuff has nothing to do with the bible. It's simple Egyptian history. Read up on Horus in any history book out there. I'm an Atheist who thinks religion is a fraud.

The only dumbshit is the one who takes everything someone throws into a Youtube video as fact.

Somewhat hypocritical stance you just took. You are so convinced that you want that video to be reality, that you overlook facts to make it reality. The exact same thing religous folks do.

I am not religous at all. I'm an atheist. If you want to cut down the bullshit in the Christian religion, there are tons of facts to do it with. Talk about the similarities between the Pagan religion, the lack of empirical evidence of Jesus and his teachings, or just the validity of a book that was written (New Testament) and debunked almost daily by science (age of planet, immaculate conception, etc). But making up shit about an Egyptian God just makes any movement to strip Christianity of its credibility look like amateur hour. Anyone who wants the truth out there should be against something that was made with little factual evidence.

You claimed I rejected reality and only believe what I want to believe. I just came in to post that many of the statements made in the religion part of the movie was completely made up. If that makes me a fanatic, then consider every single historian who has written about the Egyptian culture and the God Horus a fanatic as well. I don't really care about Christianity or the video, I just hate when videos like this make up shit to make a point (especially when they don't have to).

I found the video interesting as well. Just as I found the Da Vinci Code interesting. It gives you things to think about and mixes some facts in with fiction.

Perhaps pocketkangaroo you should look at formal logic...
 

I just want to note to you pocketkangaroo that societies have been using stories as to pass internal information safely for ages now... an understanding of the means is an insight... into the day to day life style of those who would use such old stories as an grounding for their personal lives in addition to how such stories often has a political centering for the sole reason as to exploit others.

When such stories come to the proper light for examination; by indicating an stance even if its neutral in nature will often solicit fanatical views from those who would rather not give insight normally; for what ever the reason being...
