How the hell can Hollywood get away with this crap?

http://galleries.lycos.co.uk/d/14692...-knightley.jpg

Keira Knightley - gorgeous as hell, yes?

According to IMDB, she was born in 1985, this would make her 22.

In 2001, she played a part in a movie called The Hole, in which she has a topless scene, at the age of 16; most likely filmed when she was 15. I won't post the screen grabs, but they're out there.

How can a film such as this get distribution in the US, play on major cable stations and available for American consumption when it clearly violates the law?

How can the movie industry be exempt from stuff like this???

***Of course, this is assuming all of the information is correct.

F-U-Jimmy 08-10-2007 09:45 AM

If it was filmmed in the UK the laws used to be 16 for nude work with parents concent. Only recently did they change to 18

eroswebmaster 08-10-2007 09:46 AM

The information is correct, I saw the movie I think it was on either the Sundance film channel, or Independent film channel, really good movie.

Nudity is not illegal, doesn't matter what the age. It's the context of the nudity that could be illegal. Hell, the kids don't have to be nude for it to be considered CP. It's all about context.

However, when I saw this film, I didn't know she was so young in it until my oldest niece told me. What I was surprised about this film was, they didn't just show her nude, she was in a sex scene, and during that scene the guy was feeling her up.

That explains how they can film it but how do they get to legally show it in the US?

I think you have a point there, I just don't see why it would be a problem now

pocketkangaroo 08-10-2007 09:49 AM

It probably is correct. Thora Birch did the topless scene in American Beauty at age 16. I think all that is needed is permission from the parents. The nudity also has to be artistic and not sexual I believe.

riabanana 08-10-2007 09:50 AM

She was only 15 when she did that? I watched the movie for our film class. Didn't even that it was her.

There's big difference between being nude in a mainstream movie and sucking a 12 inch black dick somewhere in the Valley.

V_RocKs 08-10-2007 10:01 AM

She is now old enough for me to fuck her asshole.

Someone must not have alerted the walmart employees who reported the mom who had nude photos of her children in pics with her who got in trouble a few years ago.

And if that's not ambiguous enough for you - what happened to C*P is C*P, no matter what context?

Especially considering the film was very sexually oriented.

Either way, it doesn't matter - it's been established it was filmed along the letters of the law of the country it was filmed in, so.... end of debate i guess.

frostyimpressions 08-10-2007 10:15 AM

The US probably still shows her underage topless scene because she doesn't have much there to begin with. haha

GAMEFINEST 08-10-2007 10:20 AM

She has one of the prettiest faces I've ever seen. I saw that last Pirates movie digitally projected on a huge screen, and her closeups were fuckin slammin.

If she added about 10 to 15 pounds she's be perfect. I don't like to play "count the vertebrae" when I'm in the sack.

fusionx 08-10-2007 11:26 AM

The real difference between hollywood and porn is that hollywood has a very large and powerful lobby - they influence congress whereas we let congress do whatever they want.

By most moral standards, I'd say you're right.

But you shouldn't legislate morality. If it's a law, it's a law that should be applied across the board.

Personally, I think 2257 is a good concept - the problem comes in execution. Laws shouldn't discriminate against or for industries based on concerns of morality. Apply it in general, or not at all, imho.

Don't forget Brooke Shields was waaay under age in "Pretty Baby"
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078111/

there is also under age nudity in "At Play In The Fields of The Lord"
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0101373/

The Blue Lagoon also.

Now that I think about it, didn't they have standins?

Not in the second one where Milla Jovovich was either 14 or 15

GatorB 08-10-2007 12:14 PM

When the first Pirates came out anyone here wank off to Keira Knightley or think about fucking her? Well she was 17 when that movie was made. About the same age that Emma Watson( Harry Potter ) is now. So I guess we all belong in a room with Chris Hansen.

By the way anyone remember watching Star Wars Episode 1. The chick that was Padme's decoy was Keira Knightley.

Quagmire 08-10-2007 12:17 PM

She's built like a 10yr old boy when it comes to boobs anyway. Nothing to see.

Semi-Retired-Dave 08-10-2007 12:18 PM

I never understood that either.

come on, one is a 5 second topless scene in a 2 hour movie, which is really a piece of art... the other is a movie designed to arouse viewers, a porn flick...
huge difference there...

I'm not saying that I disagree with your sense of morality on the issue.

I'm only saying that, in the eyes of the law, there should be no difference between the two. No double standards.

Pretty Baby was the movie that came to my mind upon clicking this thread. That film caused quite an uproar after it was first released as I recall.

There are plenty of movies that have unerage nudity, some with outright sexuality as well. There was a movie on TV last night on Bravo called "Valmont" with Colin Firth, Annette Benning, Meg Tilly, and a young actress named Fairuza Balk who was 15 at the time. She plays a character who is also said to be 15, and her and Firth have some naked sex play after which later in the movie you find out she got pregnant from it.

Keira Says

On becoming a star so young:
"I did a film called "The Hole" when I was 16 and, when it came out, a couple of the popular girls at school said, quite loudly, 'She's in a crap movie, so it doesn't count.' It was rude and I was upset, but if you let that stuff bother you, you're going to be in for a tough time. I wasn't popular at school. I learned to let those comments wash over me. I toughened up quite quickly."

Is that her nickname now... 'the Hole'?
