Screen size for sites: The shift has come

Most are not any more.

as we have watched our stats, we have noticed less and less with the 800x600 settings. New computers.

Yup. I just know that many designers have up until fairly recently still been on the "make it work for the 800x600 people, and it will work for everyone" mentality.

Seeing a major site like CNN shifted up tells me that there is no longer a reason to aim for anything smaller. Nice.

800x600 is 10-12% from most server stats I see, 1024 is the new std.
