ever heard of tinyurl ? its a free service that turns long urls into short urls

I made my own version with a spin.. it turns long urls into short urls and makes you money :)

How does it make you money ?

By displaying an overlay ad over the resulting url with your ref code.

you simply pick your sponsor from the list enter your ref code and a website url you want displayed and a short url is created

example url with fling ad

http://www.google.com.icnqtp.urlbucks.com/

its still in beta so any suggestions would be cool

p.s. you can enter most types of media not just webpages. ( i.e. images / videos / etc )

p.s. the overlay ad is on a time delay

Write a Forum addon that rewrites all outgoing links to indclude your service. I would us it for sure

infact the problem is with the awe flash banner because it is transparent. if you notice the fling flash ad works perfectly . but ill work on that

yes it will , there are several ways to stop this but with limited functionality. thanks for mentioning it though as its one of the first mods that will be done is to test if the site has framebreaker code on it and disable it

wurd, yea not on the first page, as i said: 'the rest of any outgoing link' - on any click link it will. shouldn't be too hard, just pattern match that shit and grep it out with or without a buffer/ob_start().

i just fixed it so this wont be a problem , it will break out of the frame once you close the ad, all script is disabled inside the framed page

I dunno if that qualifies as a tinyurl anymore, its long than the original url.

no offense taken.. the difference is the ads dont interfere the website owners ads, they are returned to the real url after viewing the ad , with the page and ad untouched. cookies are not forced

The other difference is the ability to remove sites that do not wish to participate in having their page framed

well 3 characters isnt going to last long before they are used up :)

i should have explained a bit better, the only part of the url that is really needed is the 6 characters before the urlbucks.com , the rest is just to emulate the site the link points to.

This script may violate copyright laws since you are altering the display of other people's works for your own financial gain. This isn't like doing an exit popup where their work is untouched. Just something to consider.
