Don't know what you consider bad. To me, any time the ground is not stable....That's not so good.

Shit sucked. You can never get use to that shit man dont even try. Just try to prepare for a bad one. My lady and I both have earthquake backpacks in our cars which contain clothing, food, matches, bottled water, first aid kit, and a few other things she put in there. The last big one we had here was in 94. It measured at 6.7 and it that shook the hell out of us. Not cool. Tonight was far from cool.

We're seriously considering moving. Between the quakes and the traffic.........fuck that.

How much are you loving the traffic so far aaron?

emichele20 08-09-2007 01:24 AM

I don't know how you guys do it. I can visit but I don't think I could live there. I love the east coast too much.... I hope that no one was seriously hurt or had any major damage to property.

SPACE GLIDER 08-09-2007 01:24 AM

I didn't feel a thing.

Err that's good but what makes you think you will be able to get to your car in the event of a major earthquake?

Jay_StandAhead 08-09-2007 03:29 AM

Meh, we get quakes monthly here in Okinawa, we had one 5.9 on August 7th and a 5.3 the next day. But that's nothing compared to the bigass Typhoon we got a few weeks ago, it felt like a constant earthquake for 36hours.

2012 08-09-2007 03:30 AM

yeah the big one 94 ... I remember I felt like I was surfing in my doorway ... this one did move me more then all the little ones in between that one.

it wasn't big though... the big ones coming... i remember the old one it was 4:am and I was wide awake and in the doorway in 0.1 seconds ...

AsianDivaGirlsWebDude 08-09-2007 03:36 AM

...and people laughed when I bought beachfront property in Mucho Sucko, Nevada...who's laughing now?

Err you're an idiot. It doesn't hurt to have it. That's a great motto you have there, especially if you have a family. No kids, we wont prepare, we'll all die so there's no need.

baddog 08-09-2007 09:29 AM

earthquakes are Mother Nature's way of saying move.

JD 08-09-2007 09:34 AM

D-Money 08-09-2007 09:35 AM

I live in Chatsworth, it woke me up.

My wife said at the time she thought it was a 5.0.

That was the biggest one I've felt since being in LA.

mattz 08-09-2007 09:38 AM

So was their any structural damage?

RP Fade 08-09-2007 09:39 AM

nah, nothing fell. i had a water bottle that was not sitting on my bedstand very well fall down, but other than that, there was no damage or anything. i did feel my building sway as the quake shook us.

Brother Bilo 08-09-2007 09:45 AM

That's one thing I definetely don't miss since leaving CA. I was there for the one in 89 and I remember wanting to shit my pants, but I didn't.

Rochard 08-09-2007 09:59 AM

I went through the 1989 Loma Pereta Eathquake in San Fran. We all ran out of the building we were working in, and stuff from the building itself was falling. The pavement was waving like it was an ocean three feet tall.

Scary shit.

We had no power for two days, and no phones for four days.

I was rudely awakened. My pussy was all shaken up. My cat I mean.

SPACE GLIDER 08-11-2007 12:37 AM

I think I prefer Earthquakes to tornadoes. But I was born and raised here in Ca. So I guess I'm just used to it.

You very very elegantly missed my point entirely. :thumbsup
