I wish they would make a high gloss black one. I don't understand why they won't. It would go great in my kitchen.

Wow! Awesome! Oh wait, neither does my laptop...

What is the difference between this iMac and a laptop other than you can actually take a laptop with you?

Yes, but that's not what's new about it. They have been like that for a while now. The new part is the thickness is a lot slimmer than the previous iMac and it's more powerful, also the keyboard is thinner.

Matt 26z 08-09-2007 01:38 AM

So in other words it's a monitor with the guts of a laptop.

Exactly...

crockett 08-09-2007 01:53 AM

Looks neat I guess if you just want a toy. You will never be able to upgrade it nor will it likely do much in reguards to performance.

Naughty Pyne 08-09-2007 02:00 AM

Apple is taking over the world! I just got my new MacBook Pro a couple weeks ago and I love it. My buddy likes my Macs so much he is buying the new iMac for himself.

not true, they are extremely fast, you can upgrade ram and put external HDDs. By the time you'll need an upgrade its just better get a new computer cause normally it will be in about 2-3 years timeframe.

Praguer 08-09-2007 02:20 AM

Looks nice but what about upgrading ?

I don't mean just adding hard drives. But processors and such...

Apple has a tendency to make it's own products obsolete fast.

Sarah_Jayne 08-09-2007 02:27 AM

Gone are the days of oatmeal.

Touché :thumbsup

carol.prime 08-09-2007 07:52 AM

that looks awesome!!!..

but i think that's very expensive..

jonesonyou 08-09-2007 07:57 AM

I caught this old balls bastard with the last generation of those .. must have been a 20 inch in the back of the coffee house. He had the IMac with the original box and a serge bar with him on the couch. Perving out in the corner for the longest time. If I had a pic the would have been the perfect owned pic.

justsexxx 08-09-2007 08:06 AM

WHat if the monitor breaks? Or your pc is getting older(slow) but you still like the screen.
You have to buy a whole new computer+screen....I never like ALL IN ONE things for things that are not needed to be ONE....

DateDoc 08-09-2007 08:35 AM

I have one of those and I like it. Going to order a 24" imac too. :thumbsup

LOL, they did a bit more than that. It is more powerful and cheaper than the old one. A 24" iMac was $1999 the new one is $1799 with a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo.

tomeatsdinner 08-09-2007 08:45 AM

Nice one.. Definitely more pricey.

I agree with you 100%, I was actually gonna make the same kind of comment.

obviously you've never owned a MAC then - the quality is not shit, and simply they don't break down on the level or scale that most PC's do

there are few computers that build an entire heat sink out of the case - thus the aluminum case - they run cooler = less problems

my advice is to try before knocking them.. you won't regret it :2 cents:

Star 69 08-09-2007 09:31 AM

It was already posted on GFY couple days before. BTW it looks cool.

I'm not talking about the quality. But so now and then a pc need(or you want it) upgrades

Just_Dave 08-09-2007 10:34 AM

looks nice
