Lets try this again!

August 7, 2007

LOS ANGELES, CA. — According to recent research (source: Infonetics
Research 2007) the number of mobile video subscribers is expected to hit
46 million by 2010. The number of worldwide mobile video subscribers
increased more than 300% between 2005 and 2006; the report attributes this
growth to better handsets and connection technology. Additionally,
service provider revenue from mobile video is also set to soar. Revenue
jumped 317% from 2005 to 2006, reaching almost $200 million. Infonetics
Research predicts those numbers will triple by year end in 2007.

This comes as no surprise to team at MidniteMonkey and Porno Dan Films.
After releasing Porno Dan content via the MidniteMonkey.com mobile site,
visits to the mobile site has grown 604% with revenue growth at 669%.

“We expect consumers to steadily find their way to mobile video and will
continue to make it easy for all content owners to capture that viewership
and revenue through our affiliate program” said a spokesperson from
MidniteMonkey.com.

MidniteMonkey.com continues to offer best-of-class mobile video
distribution through the availability of their 1) webmaster affiliate
programs and 2) full turn-key private-label services for content owners.
MidniteMonkey offers an end-to-end mobile TV service available on wireless
carriers around the world. The streaming video leverages the carriers 3G
wireless network and the streaming media players found on the majority of
the carriers handsets.
Mobile TV services are beginning to gain momentum in the United States,
and now MidniteMonkey.com is helping content owners capture their share of
this lucrative market. Juniper Research forecasts the mobile adult
content market to grow from $1.4 billion in 2006 to $3.3 billion by 2011.
With minimal effort, adult site operators can take advantage of the
webmaster affiliate program while creating a new revenue stream.
MidniteMonkey will help site operators redirect their broadband traffic,
onto the wireless web, to MidniteMonkey.com. As a result, site operators
will earn money from sales converted from the wireless redirects.

Adult content producers and content rights owners will be excited to learn
about MidniteMonkey’s full turn-key private label services program. The
adult industry now has a resource to help break down the technical
challenges associated with entering the mobile space. MidniteMonkey’s
production capabilities offer best-of-breed content owners the ability to
effortlessly extend their products to the mobile landscape, while tapping
into an entirely new revenue stream. “We are essentially an ASP helping
content owners capitalize on their existing content catalog. Our solution
is turn-key for current adult site owners”, said a spokesperson from
MidniteMonkey. This service allows the private label affiliate to
leverage their existing brand and content in the wireless space.
MidniteMonkey offers consultation, integration and implementation to help
extend your brand to the wireless space.

For additional details visit MidniteMonkey.com. Further partnerships and
technology advancements are expected to be unveiled in Q4 2007.

Billing direct to the carrier for porn with Sprint, At&T, T-Mobile and Verizon?

Are you sure about that?

You may want to clarify that statement for your potential customers. :2 cents:

You are dancing around the question. Doesn't matter if you use Bango or any of the other popular billers... are you saying you can bill X-Rated or even R-Rated pics or videos direct to a person's phone bill?

I know the Bango backend quite well, it's either G, U or R... and anything as much as a nipple puts you in R... which takes away North American carriers.

mBlox has gotten several Premium SMS programs approved for X-rated content, and I believe a few other aggregators have as well. Bango is losing clout left and right since they do virtually no business in the US so I doubt they've gotten anything approved - it's not impossible though.

A thirty second GFY search will come up with dozens of mobile programs throughout the years, several of which have offered streaming content.

So, Porno Dan.. Stop trying to win with firsts. Win with features! People who know will take notice.

Porno Dan 08-09-2007 08:38 AM

Yes you can view XXX content in the US. Go to www.midnitemonkey.com from your phone browser to see more.

If you have more questions please email us directly

First to be up? Cmon, people were selling into the US 3+ years ago.

Point me out one program that mBlox has approved for adult content. Also mBlox reports to the operators and I'm sure most large operators would not allow that.

wContent / Pixipay got approved about a year and a half ago, then four or five people about a month later got approved as well. Every single program has to be approved by the carriers - and of course every carrier chooses who they want to deal with at random, so you won't find a consistent list of which carriers allow adult.

You know, they don't. (Wink wink, nudge nudge.)

So you are saying they are delivering XXX ass-and-titties to phones and billing directly to the phone bill for it through MBlox on US Carriers?

Or, are they billing as something else and sneaking it in?

And, I'm not talking the ability to send an SMS message with a wap push link for a mobile credit card sign up form like Pixpay.

The truth is, even the mighty playboy doesn't show nipples on mobile phones for this very reason... so you are saying someone else is billing direct to the phone bill in the US for adult?

Paul Markham 08-10-2007 01:11 AM

:2 cents::2 cents:

If you are not offering your traffic mobile porn you are losing out big time.

The problem with delivery straight to the phone can be price, billing and what you can deliver.

For what it costs to GIVE AWAY for free as a bonus to your members is not even worth thinking about.

The novelty value of mobile porn sent direct to a phone will wear off as they get the bills.

quantum-x 08-10-2007 01:55 AM

As a number of companies will testify [maybe not publically, such as Oh Mobile, Xobile, and myself] mobile is a hard sell. It's not that it's a difficult market - it's just it's a difficult market online - IE, the person is staring at 19" of titties, and you're trying to convince them to shell out $5 to see the titties in 1" definition.

Alternatively, from the 'real world' or print market, they're staring at a tiny picture of titties, and you're offering them the chance to see the titties bigger and bouncing on their screen for just $5. Easy sell.

Yes, and they're fully carrier approved. Not every carrier mind you - not uniformly at least. If you've got the bread and are willing to work your connections it is possible. There are an elite few even making a cut of the data charges, but let's not go there. :winkwink:

Here's a fun little snippet from an old email:

"...Over the past several months T-Mobile has seen a number of violations of the Playbook. Severity has ranged from discrepancies in advertising to disregard for pricing notification requirements, to distribution of adult content. It is with this in mind that T-Mobile will enter 2006 with strict enforcement of policy for services found out of compliance. Please review this section carefully and take measures to ensure your services comply with the Playbook and Agreement. We encourage the development of a profitable marketplace for partners whose services are responsible enough to recognize the importance of building a long term customer base. This starts with adherence to the rules, terms and conditions of the Playbook and Agreement..."

"Thanks,
T-Mobile Content Gateway Team"

There is of course the official word, and also the non official word. There are also loop holes. If you're doing the non official / loophole variety, if you ever get noticed, you'll be fucked.

That's a damn good point, and has a lot to do with why you don't see more programs that publicly support PSMS - it just does not make sense to porn buyers. They want to put their credit card number in... it's in their blood. And once they're on their phone they do not want to have to double opt in - especially not if they have to exit the browser and send another text message.

Besides, working with the carriers is a *huge* pain and let's face it... most people in adult are way too independent to deal with it. I do not miss the days of a new batch of rules and regulations every two weeks, a new type of disconnect file three days, another QPass billing failure every six months... bleh.

When we worked it we were working with a thirdparty, but had the US PSMS etc, and you're right.. between the fee hikes and constantly changing rules, you'd have to be a man on infinite patience to see it through.

I've got a sneaking suspicion (actually, no suspicions, I'm pretty damn sure I'm right) that they carriers want the mobile content niche wrapped up for themselves.

They couldnt do it officially, but charging a few g pm for a PSMS and changing the regs every second day pretty much makes seals the deal..

Indeed, web-to-mobile only constitutes a fraction of the traffic galvanising techniques for the mobile internet.

Here the "killer app" with be live vid chat "to go" which is showing a healthy ARPU, but with the cellcos keeping too much.

However, as with Premium rate, the content owners should get more as the industry matures...
