I'm so pissed off. Domainers should be banned from the internet.

People who register domains just to put a link farm page there should be shot. There should be some kind of content rule for domains. Maybe im just being childish but I hate that every time I get a good idea for a site and try to register the domain it's always registered and when I check the url all I see is a landing page with no relevant content whatsoever.

Klen 08-07-2007 05:33 AM

Barefootsies 08-07-2007 07:54 AM

Agreed.

:disgust

jonesonyou 08-07-2007 07:55 AM

xmas13 08-07-2007 11:38 AM

Cybersquatting

Thrawn$ 08-07-2007 11:39 AM

Then make an offer and buy the domain

that's why it's parked

Violetta 08-07-2007 11:44 AM

You should have thought about it in 1996!

st0ned 08-07-2007 11:45 AM

Yeah I make a bid for 200 dollars for a domain that might be worth 50, then they reply they want 10000 dollars for the domain. Happens every time.

teg0 08-07-2007 12:25 PM

You're looking at it wrong. Buying domains is like real estate nowadays.

Forkbeard 08-07-2007 01:25 PM

Yeah. It's "worth" whatever it takes to get them to part with it, and not a penny less.

Whining about parked domains is like whining about undeveloped real estate. "I want to build a house on the waterfront, and there's a perfectly good vacant lot there, but the owner won't give it to me! Wah! He should have to build a mansion on it, minimum 6,000 square feet, or give it to someone who will put it to good use!"

GAMEFINEST 08-07-2007 01:27 PM

sometimes they coo ppl

XPays 08-07-2007 01:42 PM

those ppc pages make more money than any revshare

I was about to post almost exactly the same thing.

Sad but true.

I just parked a couple of domains and now I actually see how much the domains are worth. They were worth about zero with a ful blown website there. :disgust

But of course, click fraud is the reason sponsors had to switch to revshare and PPS. If assholes had not cheated then every webaster with a domain would be making decent money for it.

Hey, we did it to ourselves.

Actually whining about domains is worse because a new TLD creates millions upon millions of new domains where as not much new land is being made.

Relying on a dot com name to build a business is bullshit anyway.
A webmaster should be able to build a profitable site on any domain.

Case in point: "interracialporno.nu"
The shitty name is really killing him huh?

Sometimes a gem pops up from out of nowhere!

Boobzooka 08-07-2007 07:32 PM

Lazy squatters annoy me. You'd think a $10K offer would at least be worthy of a reply. :feels-hot

CyberHustler 08-07-2007 07:34 PM

Yeah, domain squatters are fuckin annoying as fuck

DaddyHalbucks 08-07-2007 07:38 PM

Yea, that sucks. I hate the guy who registered sex.com before I could. I am thinking about sueing.

needlive 08-07-2007 07:46 PM

He had a good idea and just because someone else had it 12 years ago doesn't mean they should get the domain which they paid $75 for at the time.
:1orglaugh

I mean why should he have to settle for a $9 domain that is exactly the same as the $75 domain except with an "s" at the end. Wouldn't the guy with the $75 domain be stealing his type-in traffic??

Even though I'm friends with a bunch. I agree. at and t should of kept the price higher to get a domain and offered more promotion with it by default.

Dot coms will either be sky-high for any decent name or be almost worthless.

The only thing holding the value on .com is the rep.
If some new technology, like "super 3D video", came out that was only licensed for say .ddd then dot com would go straight to shit.

I dout the last scenario will happen.

Of course the internet with a computer might be like pagers.

Well unless it's a 100K domain ..... I usually say thanks (to lowball offers) - but I'd need a lot more than that to part with this domain.

Bake 08-08-2007 04:30 AM

The frontire days days of stakeing your site for a regestion fee are gone spend or move on

on a serious note, two domains like bigtits.com parked on a decent program and you are set for life

definitely beats working 10 hours daily on submitting galleries or updating porn blogs with the newest solo girls pics :1orglaugh:1orglaugh

It's free to register domains and keep them the way you want. Just like other objects you buy and use/keep the way you feel.
