Have You Ever Been To A Spiritualist ???

What are your thoughts on it ?

I've considered going to see one after a friend of mine recently passed away. Some people i know who have went to this person before say it's really good, and they knew stuff which would have been impossible to predict or have a guess at. Good idea, or avoid it ??

topbucksdarlene 08-02-2007 12:17 PM

Explain more about it.

Brother Bilo 08-02-2007 12:17 PM

What's a spiritualist? Like a priest or something?

Sarah_Jayne 08-02-2007 12:19 PM

I was always sceptical about such things, but after a few of my family members who have had recently been and told me exactly what happened, it's made me more curious to try it for myself.

I guess when someone passes away we look for anything which can give us some comfort...

Brother Bilo 08-02-2007 12:26 PM

But what does this spiritualist do?

geeknik 08-02-2007 12:27 PM

Nope, I can't say that I have.

Scott, trust me on this one : They're all FAKE.. every single last one of them..

Not saying that there isn't life after dead - I believe in thay myself.. but all these spititualists, mediums and psycics... all fake dude..

They're all people trained in the skill of manipulation.. and they're good at it... it's showbusiness, nothing more...

How can I be so sure of all this... well, one domain for you : http://www.randi.org/

Randi is a top notch guy.. putting all the worlds alternative idiots to the test...

Anyone who can proove just the slighest paranormal stuff to him and his crew of sciencetist gets $1.000.000 cash... he's known in the whole business, and no one dares to claim the prize :) In fact he he asked Uri Geller back in the days to come and get'em... but naaa, he wasn't in it for the money.. yeah right.. you wont find a more greedy idiot than Uri Geller..

And no... don't come with all the "There's no way what I saw could be fake... the lady with the scarf knew all sorts of things about my dead grandpa in Canada"... it's all fake.. and if you think different they scammed you as well...

tranza 08-02-2007 12:49 PM

Scammers... All of them.... They'll ask generic questions....

"Anyone in this room lost someone with a tatoo on the arm lately?"

Bullshit....

Fizzgig 08-02-2007 12:49 PM

What do you imagine you could gain from it?

The Duck 08-02-2007 12:53 PM

They probably use you with NLP, be wary.

TeenSluts 08-02-2007 01:02 PM

Hmmm, checking it out now.

For me though, it still doesn't explain some of the things some of my family have been told recently by these people. Real personal, private stuff.

I know about 'cold reading', but some of this stuff was said before anyone had said anything, or given any clues away.

They knew about my grandad being shot in the arm etc...

jigg 08-02-2007 01:35 PM

to James Randi everything is fake and unprovable anyway so it really doesn't matter.

I know of one person, a family friend, who went to Japan in the 90s to be studied a scientist gave her a box with something in it and was asked to describe what's in the box. She not only described it but was able to go down to molecular structure - the shapes of the molecules etc ... infront of journalists and cameras. The guy still denied everything despite promising to resign if she was able to tell what's in the box.

There are a lot of fakes out there tho, most are making up stuff especially those famous $700/seans people

I can't beleive that some guy with extraordinary powers, can speak to death people, do astral projections etc.. will work for 2$/minutes

if i got such powers, i'll be the king of the world

sniperwolf 08-02-2007 02:10 PM

Never been but heard a lot of them. Here in our place spiritualist is a common thing. Paranormal activities resorted a lot of cases wherein it helps the family of the dead people. I believe in it. No question with that.
