http://www.websiteoptimization.com/bw/0701/ - Looks like Bush also lies about broadband coverage.

I'm on 4mpbs now, but just agreed a new deal with Virgin Media that will bring my Tv, Fone and Internet together in one package. It'll also put my broadband up to the maximum they have of 20mpbs.

That'll do me :)

I'm on a deal similar to yours with my local cable company. Only real difference is the cable internet is 16mbps and not 20, but 16 will do me just fine. Best part is cable tv, phone and internet costs me $125CND/month

Our package of all 3 now costs £30 (so around $60USD a month at current crap exchange rates) :) That's 20mpbs, 'deluxe' tv package and phone. We had a small hiccup with the billing caused by them so they rectified it, credited £50 to our account as an apology and gave us a great price (virgin media btw).

Tell her to call up and ask for the "Very Impressive Package"
Its £85 a month, you get your TV (every channel, even Sky Sports and Movies package) telephone with unlimited calls 24 hours a day, 20mpbs broadband.

TV also includes Setanta Sports Package absolutely free. Here's the link to it
http://allyours.virginmedia.com/webs...ct.do?id=11029

I was paying Sky £45 a month for the whole package with one box of Sky Plus. Virgin Media are giving me the V + Box and an extra box for anywhere else in my house. Sky wanted an extra £15 a month for that.

Oh btw on that page it says Broadband is 10mb but its not, its just been doubled to the 20 so don't be put off. Just make sure you tell them you want the 20mb. They should know that anyway.

Much of the UK public went straight to broadband rather than having dial up. That was mainly because that local calls aren't free so when people still had to have dial up it was too costly for people. Now, that broadband is everywhere here suddenly everybody (more or less) has broadband in their home and the companies are doing everything they can to make their service the one you *have* to join.

Why 08-02-2007 05:11 AM

population density effects this in a large way, it would be interesting to see broadband penetration next to population density to compare.

Its also getting cheaper and cheaper. I remember our first broadband connection we were paying £25 per month for it and we all thought it was great.

Then one day I called up to ask about upgrading and they told me they would do it for the same price as everyone was being improved. My latest deal just got cheaper but put me up to 20mb. Its insane. I hope it continues to get cheaper and cheaper.

bizarrejan 08-02-2007 05:38 AM

can anyone shed any light on any good broadband deals in Cyprus?

Martin3 08-02-2007 05:44 AM

We'll will likely never be at the top of the list. To many rural areas in the US. But we are pretty behind in the speed department and that sucks. I pay $49.95/month for 6Mb/s adsl line.

I remember paying $5/hour for Prodigy back in the day. :1orglaugh

TeenCat 08-02-2007 05:47 AM

papa56 08-02-2007 05:51 AM
