Well, technically, yes. But it's a given that the term skinhead is now commonly used to refer to neo-nazi skinheads.

Back in my early 20s I used to get in fights w/ the skins who immigrated here from Poland or somethin'. Every night I went to the bars I'd end up gettin' in fights w/ those guys. I give 'em credit tho...they stick together. You fight one & ya end up fightin' them all!

The label "skinhead" is usually just another excuse for gang like bullshit, hate and fights.

Here in So Cal they even have "Armenian Power Skins." Then you have the "Sharp" skinheads, and all sorts of variations...hispanic, asian, white, even black skinheads. They all traipse around like they are badass and always need to fight and get in trouble. Whatever cause they claim to stand for is pretty much an excuse to fight other skinheads and people who do not agree with them.

I have argued countless hours that you can listen to ska and punk and even go to shows and not have to label yourself a skinhead or live like fucking white trash wanna-be euro trash scum.

Years ago my 16 year old sister was involved briefly in this bullshit.... she was kidnapped by a carload of "skinheads" (racially mixed) who felt she was not cool enough to call herself a "skinhead." They pulled her into their car, held her down and cut off her bangs/fringe. (skinhead girls are referred to as "hens" as they shave their head but leave a fringe around the edges-yeah its fucking dumb looking) Then they took her to a park and told her she was gonna fight their fat fucking queen bee skinhead, which she did and proceeded to kick the living shit out of. They all left her there after the damage was done. Luckly she did not get stabbed, raped, beaten, or killed by a guy skinhead. She never pressed charges as this would have made the situation much worse, most likely causing havoc at our parents home, as they knew where this was.

She has since grown out all her hair, and til this day avoids entire malls.

They are lucky I was in another state when this happened. She now understands what I was trying to tell her. Fuck labels.
