i can't find a good movie editor program... what's the best???

i have a few :2 cents: to spend

I like Premiere. If you can get the full version of Cleaner 5 thats even better. You can run batch processes after editing with Premiere.

I just picked this one. It works well for minor mpeg editing & whatnot. They have a free trial version, but I don't think you can save anything. But you can mess around w/ it & see if it's what you're looking for. It works perfect for me for the time being. :)

Oh great! I was just askin' about this a few weeks ago & nobody would gimme a straight answer, so I went & bought/found my own.

i need something that reads and outputs AVI, MPG and WMV

Try the one I mentioned. I believe it takes care of all that! I think it's only $45...

I would recommend an older copy if you can get your hands on it..

version 1.3 I think.

Before they took out the ability to work on WMV files

Avid dv xpress then run it thru cleaner..

Or if you want to be fancy run it thru windows media encoder v9

You're right...Guess I was mistakin'.

Go to www.download.com I found a bunch of stuff there & ultimately found exactly what I was lookin' for. It took some searchin' but was worth it in the long run. Users give their reviews, etc.

it outputs in all formats except RM. change your compression :)

VirtualDub 1.3 and older can also output in .asf and .wmv.

vegas video is a great program i like the fact that you can edit wmv files

final cut pro for editing (will only run on mac though)
cleaner for compression.
cleaner + mpeg charger plugin for variable bit-rate mpeg1 encoding.
