how mutch do you pay per mbps of traffic?

do you think 60/mbps is too mutch?

the Shemp 07-30-2007 03:37 PM

ya ......

Doctor Dre 07-30-2007 03:38 PM

Holy shit yes...

Serverprovider charges me something like 20 bucks per mbit (overuse same price too). And it's billed on average, not 95th percentile. Wich is like at least 1/3 less usage then the hosts billing on 95th.

foreverjason 07-30-2007 03:41 PM

i pay 180 per 10mbits from atrivo.com

Alvaro 07-30-2007 03:44 PM

i have a friend paying that mutch and he says he have one of the best deals on the hosting company

ServerGenius 07-30-2007 03:50 PM

60/Mbps is defenitely too much allthough it's more relevant how much you make
per Mbps in relation to what you pay for it....if paying more increases your profit
margin in relation to the costs than it turns out that paying more end up being
cheaper than paying less :winkwink:

Something you have to figure out by trying and analyzing your traffic and looking
for anything that could be a limiting factor affecting the results.....
in no way is this a proven formula for success :thumbsup

fast connection + overloaded servers can't be fixed with changing network

$1440.00 usd + $60 colocation + $203.42 server leasing

$1703,42

directfiesta 07-30-2007 06:56 PM

Pornwolf 07-30-2007 08:59 PM

Yeah, it's waaay too much. You better be hosting with Akamai for that price now a days.

Shoplifter 07-30-2007 09:02 PM

We pay about 180$ for a server with 10mbit unmetered Cogent. So $18 per Mbit with the server.

gecko 07-30-2007 10:06 PM

$12.5 here if you devide it out

$250 for 20mbps

amateurcanada 07-30-2007 10:19 PM

You should be spending 20-25% of revenue on hosting your site. Its your storefront, and nobody goes into the rundown stores with any kind of cash ;)

Alvaro 07-30-2007 11:18 PM

thanks for the answers so far.. very appreciated
