Plane Crashes

Theres been 2 today. Heres the first one that happened this morning:

Quote:

No one was seriously injured Monday morning when a small plane crashed into an elementary school sign during an emergency landing in far northwest suburban Greenwood in McHenry County.

Woodstock firefighters and paramedics responded at 9:05 a.m. to the plane crash in front of Greenwood Elementary School, on the 4600 block of Greenwood Rd., according to Woodstock Fire and Rescue District Chief Ralph Webster.

The plane was experiencing engine trouble after taking off from Galt Airport, located about one-quarter mile from the crash site. The pilot tried to turn the small aircraft around, but then decided to land the plane on the flat land in front of the school, Webster said. The plane smashed into the elementary school sign, damaging the tail end of the aircraft.

Witnesses helped pull the pilot and a passenger from the plane after the crash, before emergency crews arrived. The passenger compartment was not damaged.

Both the pilot and the passenger suffered minor injures and were treated on the scene, Webster said.

& then just a few minutes ago a planes landing gear wouldnt come down so it had to land on its belly. it had 11 people on it, and they landed successfully, the passengers are being checked out now.

Theres been so many plane incidents lately... just a good thing that no one got hurt in these ones.

Wow, I grew up out by Galt airport. That's my old stomping grounds. Glad they made it safely.

scary stuff... imagine crashing in a plane. Crashing in a car would be nothing compared.
