Kevin Garnett Traded to Boston For......

crap! a lot of crap though ......... Al Jefferson, Sebastian Telfair, Gerald Green and a first round pick which will be middle of the pack.

and in other sports news Bill Walsh the architect of the West Coast offence dead at the age of 75 after a long battle with leukemia.

we'll be back with the weather after these commercial messages.

sextoyking 07-30-2007 12:31 PM

Bill Walsh, dammmm RIP old timer.

He sure had some success in his day

Sosa 07-30-2007 12:34 PM

yeah lots of talk about garnett the past day or so. Bunch of shit for him.

RIP Bill Walsh

Young 07-30-2007 12:36 PM

Isn't this still a rumor?

I have WEEI Boston sports talk radio on now and haven't heard a confirmation

sucks for who exactly? speak for yourself son

Jefferson and Green are nice. But Minny won't get both of them in a trade. I heard we were giving up Big Al and Theo Ratliffe. Now THAT would be a crap trade for those upper-Midwest hicks to bitch about!

SB

A first round pick is the best thing on that package...

crugar 07-30-2007 12:47 PM

Garnett can option out of this contract after the 07-08 season - if Boston can sign him to an extension - then good for them..otherwise, Garnett becomes a rental player for Boston...If this deal becomes official, the Celtics will now have Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce and a whole bunch of unproven/unknown talent...

sextoyking 07-30-2007 12:56 PM

It was sad to see Ray Allen leave my sonics..

He sure is a great bball player and a real professional...

I am sure he will do well with the celtics.

axelcat 07-30-2007 01:01 PM

It's not officially announced yet, It's still a rumor

SilkyJohnson 07-30-2007 01:07 PM

Sounds like a good trade for both sides if it goes through...Boston will be stacked if that's the case and Al Jefferson will have a chance to be a starter and get his share of touches. Last year he only got his touches because of injuries, I think Minnesota will be fine with him in the post...he's no KG but he'll be a consistently good player. Interesting to see how it will work out, I think matching the salaries will be the deal breaker.

It's good to see Garnett go somewhere where he has a chance to win.

It seems like his talent has been squandered really, he could have been one of the all time greats.

Didn't Garnett sign his contract before the max contract cap came about in the NBA? I thought he would lose money if he opted out of his contract because his original contract surpassed what he could sign for now?

Mutt 07-30-2007 01:29 PM

i think he will love Boston - and in the East with Allen and Pierce he could go to an NBA Final. Can't get a much better sports town than Boston. I just wish the Garden still existed - the new building ruined hockey in Boston.

Humpy Leftnut 07-30-2007 01:32 PM

Where was Colangelo on this one?@$! ;)

SilkyJohnson 07-30-2007 02:51 PM

Sounds like it is going through, they just need to work out the details...

Aneros Josh 07-30-2007 03:08 PM

he's still real young though.

Thank fucking FUCK the Celts will once again be better than the Lakers!

Vitasoy 07-30-2007 04:51 PM

Juilan 07-30-2007 05:50 PM
