TGP w/the best support/features

Hello everyone, left porn a few years ago but am jumping back in.

Looking to wet my feet by creating a few new TGP's... since I've been out of the game for so long, I want to see if anything has changed.

What's the best TGP in terms of features AND support. Instead of trying every script, I'll just choose what's the most popular.

So, which scripts do YOU find the best?
Comus
Smart Thumbs
TGPx
Vanilla TGP
etc

Babaganoosh 07-29-2007 08:50 PM

You must have been in the business back when you could actually make money with TGPs.

allofzen 07-29-2007 10:02 PM

Wow, are TGP's that ineffective now adays?

CyberHustler 07-29-2007 10:07 PM

AutoGallery SQL

they cancelled the procuct, you cant buy it anymore, you can only get updates for current installs, tgpx replaced all the cgi tgp scripts

Spunky 07-29-2007 10:12 PM

TGPX is actually a pretty good script

tranza 08-01-2007 08:04 AM

I've never heard about TGPx before....

Godsmack 08-03-2007 04:52 AM

thanks for all the votes!

Free Smartthumbs for all!!

Martin3 08-03-2007 05:53 AM

Comus and Smart Thumbs are really the only 2 you need to look at. The one you choose will depend on the kind of TGP you want to build. Both offer free versions.

Vendzilla 08-03-2007 10:15 AM

with comus there is a free version of ept as well, the two can be loaded at the same time and work very well with each other

niche25 08-03-2007 01:27 PM

I started out with Comus and used it for about 6 months. During that time I had nothing but problems, I would have Comus techs log in and try to fix but it never completely worked perfectly. Comus is extremely difficult if you’re a first timer and it lacks many features that I felt was important to me, such as ease of use, total control of partners, full blown stats, etc…

Smart-Thumbs is extremely easy, robust, unbelievably efficient, runs exactly how you want it to. I could write for an hour on all the benefits of using ST over Comus but I’ll make it easy for you. Look at the Comus support forum then look at ST’s, it is rare anyone has a usability question, a problem with thumbs not displaying, and just about everything else.

I am definitely trying to bash Comus but I feel it necessary for you to take a look at ST in depth before making a decision on ANY script. SERIOUSLY.

Speaking of support, godsmack, I'm still having problems w/my installation :(

I posted my problems on the ST board using the same name... any chance of resolving the issues in the next 2 or 3 days as I'm hoping to finalize everything this week :)

JMB Software

Iron Fist 08-03-2007 07:26 PM

I really need to upgrade my AutoGallery SQL to TGPx soon... sigh. I so don't wanna blow up the database... 4 years of submits!

niche25 08-03-2007 07:42 PM

Smart Thumbs has no back end for them to login to whenever they want, comus does...

allofzen 08-03-2007 07:57 PM

Back end meaning backdoor??? Please clarify...

Robbie 08-03-2007 07:58 PM

I've got this way I've been using for the last 8 years...I open an .html editor and I build the site. Then I put the gallery links in it after checking them all by hand. Takes a lot of time. Makes a lot of money. Don't know if any of the cookie cutter sites made with some kind of building script work or not. Probably not, or everybody would be making money.

So the comus team can log in and fix shit whenever it breaks. They dont need your credentials, consent, nothing.

TTiger 08-03-2007 08:39 PM

AutoGallery SQL here too...
i was not aware that they were out:(

Hey, we have support slowdown due to holiday of Bepe and Goodwill..
Goodwill just returned so i'm sure your problem will be solved asap.

Cheers and thanks for choosing ST ;-)

stfuvt 08-04-2007 01:42 AM

I think comus is better then smart thumbs. I just don't have the time to to fuck with all the dhtml or whatever when I'm approving galleries. Maybe it was the version I had but everytime I would "roll over" anything I'd get fucking popup bullshit ... it would take me too long.

Shoplifter 08-04-2007 02:18 AM

Comus is possibly more powerful, but ST will do everything you need as is. I've never really managed to get archives working with Comus or AGSQL, but it was 3 clicks to set up in ST.

One other thing is that the Comus log in page has a lot of spammy shit..Maybe some see it as an asset to have fhg and program pitches there but I don't want to see that in a paid script.

sicone 08-04-2007 02:19 AM

I have always used AGS and love the program. I just purchased the server license for TGPx, but have yet to install it as I am waiting to move a series of sites to a new server to use with this program.

While with Adult.com. the tgp property I ran was done with AGS, I however did assist Vendzilla on a few of the others that were ran with Comus. Never had any problems with it, but I had a expert with the program running it.
