Jace's late night blog tip - Take the strain of pinging out of wordpress....
 

Found this a while ago and I now have multiple accounts and use it for all my blogs

you know when you have a big ping list in wordpress and you go to post and it hangs there forever? that is because the ping services are hanging up the posting, wordpress is trying to ping all the services at the same time it posts

I use this autopinger now...it scans your blog every 30 minutes for new posts and then pings all the services when it sees a new post

I've been running this for years, if his is the same prog I'm thinking of, make sure you also have it ping AT LEAST every 700 minutes of so or you'll start getting banned with some of those services

Nice one Jace... But if your business is blogging and you have a shit load of them.... why not hire a programmer to write you a script to do that for just your own stuff.. that way you never have to rely on some external site and their servers etc.

I actually have it going 3 ways depending on the blogs

1st way is using BlogPinger V 2.0

2nd is using Rocket Pinger from my server

3rd is using autopinger.com

I will leave it to you all to figure out why I use 3 different ways :winkwink:
