That's what all bottled water is. Either straight city water or just filtered with the same type filters you can buy for your home.

they basically take everything out of the tap water - then, then put back their recipe - they add minerals for taste - so, that is what you are buying flavored water in a package (bottle)

We have a vitapur water dispenser... same schitt, great taste, almost no costs in contrast to bottle water. Plus as a bonus, no empty bottles, or extra trash being generated.

Depends on where you get it from.

Some of it's RO'ed (Reverse Osmosis'ed) water... and, yeah - you need to add salts and such back into the water, if so. Others are charcoal filtered.

I've been using a Brita filter for the last half of a year or so (Charcoal Filter), and my water tastes perfectly fresh.

Not all bottled water is like that. Perrier, Evian etc, are from underground springs.


Aquafina (pepsi) / Bonaqua (coca-cola) never hid the fact that it's tap water. It says so on the bottle, people are just too stupid to read.

I've known this since grade school... alot of people are knobs.I have a nice water filter on the tap.. it works just fine.

The majority of the water used in the US comes from underground wells/springs as well. Hows it any different? It's not.... Just marketing.

My gf spends a fortune on buying bottled water. Fucking stupid !

When i tested her before, she couldn't tell the difference between that and our tap water. Yet she still buys it...

i'm so dissapointed to find out there is really not a guy working for pepsi that stands next to a really beautiful creek in colorado dipping bottles in it to fill them. i really thought that was what was happening. i thought we were all enjoying the benefits of drinking water full of animal fur, fish shit and deadly bacteria.

I never understood why anyone would buy bottled water... for the same price you can get a bottle of unsweetened green tea for example... it's exactly the same price, but you get some benefits of green tea, and same flavor to go with it...

Yeah, right. I tried the glass thing in my car, but the water went everywhere. I tried it on my bike, but the water went everywhere. I tried taking a glass of water hiking with me, but the water spilled out in the first 10 seconds.

Not sure how it works, but apparently you put water in it, and take it with you to the bike, car, hiking, etc...

Do you have empty pop/soda bottles? rinse them out and fill um up from your sink.

Most consumer also don't realize that EVIAN is NAIVE spelled backwards. Capitalism is all about marketing and sales; either you sell someone on why your product is more valuable to them than their money is, or they sell you on a reason that they don't need your product.

I figure that tap water, especially in large cities, will be relatively clean. If it's not, you could have millions of people dying. And that wouldn't be good, so I think they keep a close watch on the quality.

Hmm. Best water I ever had was from a spring deep in the Pyrenees, miles and miles away from the nearest town or even farm. Tasted divine, not at all like tap water.

Anyone with a brain cell. These things have been common knowledge for some time.

sorry, but i'd rather drink Evian, that comes from a real spring in Switzerland mountains (filtered for more than 15 years) than recycled fecal water from the tap.

Most city tap water has a lot of extra pollutants in it. Even though you will not necessarily die from drinking it you should always explore cleaner options.

Reverse osmosis & steam distillation are great ways to remove things like chlorine, silica and lead that are commonly found in city tap due to the cleaning process and the old pipes that have been used for decades.

So, if a company is purifying tap water using reverse osmosis or distillation in combination with things like ozonation and other methods then it IS better than drinking tap water.

Personally, I'm not crazy about drinking unfiltered spring water either. I dunno about you guys but I'm not real interested in drinking unfiltered fish piss and dirt particles.

I just drink my water out of the tap. All purified water is going to do is weaken your immune systems (like all the other pills, etc.. out there people take daily) :upsidedow

Spring water doesnt have neither fish piss in it nor dirt particles.

Its a precipitation water that filters through the earth.

I was exaggerating about the fish piss but it absolutely does have dirt particles in it.

On every bottle check out the "solids" rating. There you will find the "dirt" broken down into parts.

Dirt is made up of a lot of stuff and a lot of it is good but I'd rather my water be purified and have the specific elements added later.

Because it's convenient.... I drink about 10 water bottles in a day.

i buy the bottled water from costco, it only costs about 11 cents a bottle. i do it mainly for convenience. usually if im at home ill drink water from my fridge that has a filter.

I think i heard that Dasani, made by Coca-Cola, is also from tap water sources - on the news report - don't be surprised if they have to fall into this label thing too
