locking your video content on the web...
Is there or could there be a way to make your mpegs etc.. in your member areas locked to where the surfers cannot download them to their harddrive?
|
dream much?
|
no, not with mpegs anyways.
you'd have to write your own custom player (probably ActiveX based or something) and encrypt the mpeg on the server, using the player to decrypt it. or something like that. however, you won't ever be able to stop them from using a program that records the output of the custom player. or spitting it out to a VCR. or whathaveyou. |
fraid not. slap your URL on your movies so at least when they make it to the P2P networks you get some clicks from it.
There are some digital rights management solutions for Windows Media content that will tie the video file down to one computer and will expire on the buyers machine when you tell it to........BUT.......i haven't tried such a file with ASFRecorder or any of the other software to record Real Video and Windows Media streams. forget it........it's a fact of life, if somebody wants your video they will get it. |
hehehe..........again with the sig rules.
well i guess technically there were more than three lines of text, so i'll go back and edit the profile again. |
