MTV played music... and it didn't suck?

Going through music video's from the 90's on youtube right now... MTV has really gone down the shitter since about 2000

MTV took a crap after beavis and butthead ended. Beavis & Butthead ended and boy bands became the craze and it just went down hill from there.

since i have digital cable i get like 10 mtv channels.... 1 or 2 plays music

damn shame

I hate to admit it, but I like the new MTV. It gives me a greater understanding of the typical "kid mentality" that I have to deal with on GFY.

I just noticed that the other night when I was channel surfing and came across a couple of their programs.

I watched for a few minutes and said to myself, "wow, he is just like SOS" or BradM or any of a number of punks found here.

i have to agree...i used to watch MTV all the time and now I barely even consider it. it's mainly all stupid reality t.v. shows now.

kind of defeats the purpose of MUSIC television

It actually surprises me that they even still make music videos.
Who sees them??

Damn, it's true.... I don't remember the last time I actually saw a video clip on MTV!

From what I can see, only rappers make them now . . . although I don't really know how old the vids are.

Not sure, but I admit to enjoying watching the skaters fuck themselves up on "Scarred"

I think scarred and Rob and Big are the only shows i still watch on MTV

The only thing i seem to watch on MTV is Jackass !

I still catch the Headbangers Ball when I can. They still play cool music, but the interviews go a little long. I could give a shit about these bands personal lives, just play some shit I can break something too. That's all I ask.

that was another age my friend! Even MTV2 sucks now. And Fuse which kept playing music forever as finally met the same shitty fate.

There was a time when I was a kid that I would fake sick so I could stay home from school and watch videos on MTV all day. I knew I would get to see at least 1 Twisted Sister video and hour and I would get excited when a video would have it's world premiere. Can anyone actually remember the last time they got excited about a music video's world premiere?

There are tons of good shows on MTV Though... Human Giant, Wonder Showzen (mtv2), etc.

Yeah... I remember wanting that channel so much back then. Now that I have it, I dont watch it at all... only bullshit (besides southpark)

I'm with you on this one Dissipate. I can't stand to watch MTV anymore.

MTV does play music still... between like 3am and 6am :1orglaugh

Their programming has always sucked... except for that show "Vice" they ran a few years ago, that show ruled ;)
