Did the US dollar blip?

My banks USD->AUD rate went from 0.8929 to 0.8783 overnight - about a 1.6% change in my favour. It's the first major improvement in something like 60+ days of a steady downward trend.

Today's rate beats the 7 and 14 day averages.

I'll be watching this very closely, I haven't deposited any cheques for over a month because the rate has been so shitty. :)

Still gone up 11% since November last year.

I read an article only a few days ago saying it would reach $1 <-> $1 within a year.

Well that sucks for us :(

Hell, at this rate i'm almost at parity at the bank machine anyways here in Canada. I think it was 98.6 cents CDN to $1 American - just brutal.

I swear i might let the sites run on autopilot for 6 months since its almost not worth even trying with no 30% bonus anyways.

LOL!!! And sure as death and taxes, it will be a lot worse :)

So far the predictions earlier this year have played out - if these stay on course, it's probable a further 5% drop in dollar value by the end of this year and fairly safe (tho who knows?) to predict an overall decrease of 10% from now to the end of next year.

I have a script which pulls the values from my bank each day, and as you can see there's a big diff between 26th and 27th (Australian EST). Perhaps your source - if it's outside of AU - will reflect that difference next time it updates?

20070721 0.8884 =
20070722 0.8884 =
20070723 0.8885 +
20070724 0.8923 +
20070725 0.8900 -
20070726 0.8929 +
20070727 0.8783 -

It's Monday and my bank's rate is now down to 0.8569, which is a 4% change since Thursday. It has dropped in a few days what it previously gained in 30+ days

Just checked - these levels are described as "averages" taken for each day, so there is going to be some variation :thumbsup
