Netflix is starting to suck bad

I am getting more and more discs that don't play or skip. About 75% of them are... getting tired of it. Think it's time to start making the drive to the movie store again.

I hear ya. I haven't had 75%, but a good portion of them are skipping and making watching a movie a drag. At least they lowered their prices.

I've been pretty lucky. So far in about 2 years I have had about 3-4 that were unplayable and about 4-6 that skipped or locked up, but that I got to work. That said I am planning on changing my membership when I empty my queue. It seems like the new releases take a month before you can actually get them so I might as well go to blockbuster and rent them. I'll keep the 2 movies per month option because they do have some of the hard to find independent movies I like to watch and you can't get anywhere else.

Right now I am watching 24, and almost all the discs so far have skipped or dragged, and at least 4 have been unreadable at some point. Fucking ridiculous. I have started reporting every one now, before I didn't do it, but now I am going to report it every time it happens, fuckers.

I've noticed that too with the new stuff. But they just have such a better selection then Blockbuster that it's hard to switch. They also have a distribution center in Chicago so everything is next day for me.

What pisses me off is that they have a deal with some of the studios to burn the DVDs themselves. You'd think they could put a limit on how many times a DVD can go into circulation before it gets thrown out. Either that or get a piece of machinery that actually scans the DVD to see if it's scratched.

Same here, they have a lot of good movies and I live about 30 minutes from a distribution center. The big test will come for me this week. I should be getting the Deadwood Season 3 discs. The queue says disc 1 has a long wait and the others are availible now. If they send me 2,3 and 4 before they send me 1 I'm not going to be very happy with them.

I thought they had a streaming option so you didnt have to mail the dvds?

they do, but most of their movies aren't availible to stream yet.

I'm going to do the Blockbuster deal where you order them online the same as Netflix, but you can also return them to the store and rent another movie instead of sending them back. That way if it is fucked up, it's not as big of a pain in the ass. My roommate has Netflix though, hasn't complained about it yet. Maybe it has to do with the area that you live in.

i switched to blockbuster as its a better value with getting free in store rentals

SykkBoy 07-26-2007 01:19 PM

I've already switched to the 2 discs at a time membership because of tons of faulty DVDs, but like others here, am keeping them because of their selection
