So I get a call from my mother the other day.....
 

and asks me if I remember this guy. She mentions the name and I said "of course I do" (was one of my high school friends. Actually, my best friend during that time)

She tells me that he added her to his facebook which made me wonder why he would add my mother of all people lol. So she lets me go and 20 minutes later she calls me again and tells me that he told her to give me his MSN. She gives it to me, I add him to my msn..

The reason he added my mother to his facebook is because he was trying to find me. Since my mom was the head secretary at the high school that we went to he knew her and knew that it was a sure bet getting a hold of me.

So on msn we chit chatted, reminisced and all that shit. He than tells me that he's a musician (back in high school he played guitar) and tells me that he has a plan to release a cd in 2008. The type of music he makes is not really my style, but from looking at his myspace there are many people that seem to love his music. Being that he is a friend I will help him in whatever way that I can.

It's cool getting back in touch with old highschool friends after 14 or 15 years.

He will put a band together when he actually releases the cd. Right now he makes all the music.

Ya, it is. I'm sure when he releases the cd it will do good. Sure, it's very different than what people hear on the radio and places like that, but there are many people that like/love this type of music. :)

and he is using that sellaband.com place to raise money. He's trying to raise $50k by his cd release date in 2008.

I thought for sure he was going to hit on your mom.

I'd like to see how well it does. The cool thing about the sellaband.com thing is that whoever buys "parts" also makes $ off every cd sale. Never actually heard of this place till my friend mentioned it. It's a pretty cool idea. As soon as I have some extra $ floating around I will try to buy $500 worth of "parts".
