Forum SEO - Does anybody use VBSEO 3.0.0 or another plugin
 

I'm looking at this (don't want to link it as its another forum).

Is anybody using it? Happy with it? Do you recommend any other forum SEO software?

I always like taking on new projects to try to get more traffic. Nothing wrong with that.

we tried to use VBSEO, but they got this "no adult forums" policy ... they wouldn't sell us a copy ...

There is or used to be a free plugin that would rewrite the urls to static html ... it didn't do much more than that tho
had some bugs, and I think the people who created it didn't continue with it.

vbseo is pretty good, too bad about the adult thing tho

I'm using it on a mainstream music forum and have nothing but positive things to say about it.

I have a different setup for phpBB that works very much like it...

I also know someone using the plugin you're talking about on a mainstream site and they love it.

pretty url structure is good for surfers and teh google

And i also noticed a plugin called Zoints SEO. Claims to do basically the same as Vbseo but as its free i think it can be used on any forum you like.

they dont let u buy vbseo for adult site. Get something custom from vbuletin.org - zoints is ok though.

It should be pretty cheap to have someone make a simple plugin like that if it's not much more than mod rewrite stuff. There are free plugins like that for most scripts out there.

I didn't know about the VBSEO no adult policy.. kinda stupid IMO. If you'd consider using phpBB though, check out the mods at PHPBB Seo. They pretty much do the same thing as VBSEO, they just aren't wrapped up in a nice, neat package. Plus they're free. :winkwink:
