I have an ip address that I NEED to know exactly who it is... Please help!

depends... if the persons ip is static and a million other factors, good luck!

chances are that if its through one of the cable companies or isps for a home that its gonna be a proxy ip that you got anyhow. if its static your chances are better.

Well even if it's not static, narrowing it down to the approximate neighborhood will do just fine. I have three ideas who this person is. And they all live quite a ways from each other.

What is the IP? I can find the city for you

city can be done pretty easily via the tool baddog dropped, or a few others.

If you want to get more specific than that, you'll need a court order, I think.

...and then hope they're not proxy chaining...

Be careful, I just did a lookup on myself and it shows a city 45-60 minutes away.

Try and trick your top suspects into emailing you back.

Make 3 .jpegs of one pixel each and host them on your server. Email each of the 3 suspects and include a separate .jpeg in each of the emails (make sure you keep track of which ones went to whom). Check your stats in a couple of days to see what IPs viewed each .jpeg. :thumbsup
