Got flooded and am waiting for the builders to come and I have to move out for 6 months to do repairs, but it was liveable until the work started....

That's the short story.

Heard a massive crash a few hours ago and the partition wall has just collapsed between the bathroom and the kitchen.

So now I have a lovely open plan Kitchen/Bathroom and half a ton of plaster liberally spread around the house!

I will not cry..... I will not cry..... I will not cry..... :Oh crap

Stuff that I wouldn't blame you for crying or if you decided to kill all the builders and bury them under you house.

After bad times, come good ones... just believe

I have wondered about you getting flooded since I was in the States and heard that Hull was flooded.

I do hope you had insurance but I know yo just moved there.

I did thank god, but you can imagine what the waiting lists for builders and stuff is. I have even had to organize a commercial dehumidifier myself to be imported from the States.

With the shit going on down south its going to be even worse now.

I remember saying to you that I wasn't sure if this move was a good idea :)

Anyway, I have decided to go and get a bottle of vodka - sit here and get smashed.

Prepare yourselves for some extreme drunken ramblings - and possibly some serious moaning :)

I kept thinking how everybody was telling me how cheap places were in Hull and I thought that perhaps the flood risk was one of the reasons why.

Hang in there...why there isn't a charity appeal yet, I don't know.

I wish I could just deliver bottles of water to people in the worst hit areas since there is tons on the shelves here but there is no organized campaign, that I have seen.
