I only remember knowing after he died BUT I was so young at that point that I just might not have known much about what it was to be gay.

its like when people wonder why celebrities like Luther Vandross (RIP) or Barry Manilow are never in public with women or were married.... hmmmm..

He did say childhood..so perhaps, like me, he wasn't that up on 'gay signals' as a young child.
