Good news for GFY-ers thanks to federal government!
 
"The minimum wage that takes effect today will boost pay for covered, non-exempt employees to $5.85 an hour from $5.15. The next jump will occur on July 24, 2008, to $6.55 an hour, and then to $7.25 an hour effective July 24, 2009."

Sadly even the 2009 hourly rate is still below most other western countries eg.. UK is on around $11/hour and due to rise a small amount in October this year.

fucking Minimum wage here in Florida changed 3x in the last 10 months, it's now $6.70, it will be going to $7.20 in like December. Too bad the quality of help doesnt fucking increase too.

OK first of all it has changed ONE not 3 times. In florida it goes up every year because 3 years ago they got smart and decide to make minimum age be tied to inflation and it gets adjusted yearly. That way you don't go 10 years then have to jack it up to high.

bingo, and they want CHEAPER labor! go figure. I cant dig up the exact stats right now cuz I am buzzed. but it is something like CEOs made 30 to 70 times the avg worker in the 70s. No it is over 9000 times more.
