Question for ALL Sponsors re: blog based affiliates

Quick question for all sponsors out there, we all know your affiliates, big or small are key and important...but what do you consider a healthy number for traffic sent to you per day/sign ups for blog based affiliates in your system?

Bump. The Blog thang is new to me.

I never really thought of it in actual numbers. Our blogging promo materials are still pretty new but I see hits coming in from blogs and converting well. So, as long as the hits convert I consider that good traffic from a blog :)

The biggest part of traffic is coming form affiliate resources that use our RSS feeds (Real-Bucks), but not from our hosted blog directly. So I think hosted blog is not so important as the RSS feeds are :2 cents:

Much of it is yet to come but if you go to the hosted galleries you will find that each hosted gallery also has a matching hosted thumb. That thumb comes in two sizes..one is 88xx88 and one is a much bigger and blog friendly size. A lot of bloggers, myself included, are using that on our blogs and linking to the gallery or even directly to the site.

There will be more tools coming soon but it was the place to start :)

ok thanks for the reply, not sure if you have rss blog posts (pics with a paragraph or two of text) in the pipeline? that would be great.

We certainly do. I am a blogger too (60 some that I update by hand) so we plan on having them with good text otherwise I will feel odd about them :)

60?!? holy shit thats alot for being handwritten! i feel the same about the quality, some feeds out there are good but many seem very generic

i did setup a few "splogs" to see what would happen, the auto-pilot functionality is sweet but lack of quality feeds with personality seems to be the prob - guess that brings up another question....

conversions from handwritten vs conversions from rss non-uniques

I wouldnt know what a healthy number (as percentage of overall) would be either for blogging affiliates. But as you say, big or small is just as important.

60 per day by hand sounds worth it to me. Probably more effective than 600 templated automated "blogs" would be.

SykkBoy 07-24-2007 11:07 AM

It's really hard to say. I've been keeping an eye on some of the stats, but don't know who all is actually using the feeds, so can only base it on the affiliates that I know are using them. The numbers range from pretty small to decent but no one yet is really blowing the doors off...but, there are a lot of variables and most webmasters send using more than just one method (blogs, TGPs, etc.)
