Do you think they are worried that noboy will go out and see the Simpsons Movie?

I've never seen so much promo for a movie EVER! Do you think they are worried people won't go?

I've been signed up to see it since I heard they making it.

FakeNick 07-23-2007 09:24 PM

douchebag

jonesonyou 07-23-2007 09:26 PM

I will check it out. But I am not really excited about it.

Sands 07-23-2007 09:26 PM

No clue, but I will certainly see it. I grew up with the Simpsons, and remember watching them when they were just a series of shorts on the Tracy Ullman show. How time flies.

teg0 07-23-2007 09:27 PM

yeah i'm already planning on seeing it twice. Once in spanish and once in english. I'd like to see it break box office records.

Ricardo_Maltoban 07-23-2007 09:29 PM

They are afraid adult webmasters force them to shut it off.

V_RocKs 07-23-2007 10:23 PM

They like making marketers rich for no reason.

shermo 07-23-2007 10:24 PM

Have you seen the converted 7-11's? Wonder what that ran em'.

SteveLightspeed 07-23-2007 10:27 PM

It would have been a surefire hit if they would have included this character:

"World Famous Teen Porn Photographer, Steve Lightspeed"

It's funny you made this post because I was just thinking the same thing. I'm making my avatar and it popped in my mind that maybe they are doing all of this because they are worried no one will go see the movie. Their marketing is the most interactive I've ever seen. It's so cool being able to go to the kwikimart and I think being able to create your own avatar is pretty sweet.

tranza 07-24-2007 08:19 AM

I can't wait to see it!!!

Bryan G 07-24-2007 08:21 AM

cant wait to see it

Blue Player 07-24-2007 08:24 AM

I am looking forward to it more than christmas. I thing I will love is that I bet it is 25 year old and above that go in their masses to see a cartoon feature! Usually they would target kids with this!

milambur 07-24-2007 09:08 AM

It's probably because they know so many people will see the movie they put a lot of money on marketing. If you know the movie will cover production and marketing costs no matter, then every extra visitor you will get from marketing will be a lot of profit, they know they will never loose money so they can risk investing money in marketing. $700M without marketing or $900M with $100M marketing, I know what I would do. The hard part is figuring out when cost per acquisition becomes too high.

Not a penny. 7-11 paid for all of that promotion.

hahaha this is awesome

i think the Simpsons doesnt need too much advertising, i mean they got their name on the top already.

Cyndalie 07-24-2007 10:14 AM

of course they are worried. the movie is about 8 years past it's due date to make top $$ in the box office.

Doctor Dre 07-24-2007 10:19 AM

They prolly want to make something really big out of it. I'm going to see it on sunday for sure

J. Falcon 07-24-2007 10:25 AM

The Simpsons are not nearly as funny as they once were. The last few seasons have been mediocre at best. The show had its Golden Age, and it was more than 5 years ago now. I'm wondering which type of humor will be represented in this movie.

I've been a Simpsons fan since I was in high school when the show first came on. I never even knew what Matt Groening looked like till he popped up on the Daily Show, I find it kinda funny they are parading him around all of a sudden after being such a recluse. They also skinned myspace, skinned Tom profile, made crop circles with Homer, appointed a town as the real Springfield, and pulled like a million other publicity stunts.

I've never seen anything like this!
