download & view the example source
http://www.jeroenwijering.com/upload/jw_flv_player.zip that will be $8 |
don't forget to buy a license if you use jeroen's flv player, it's only free for non-commercial uses.
|
so If I add these files in the members area they have to go download the player? and this is what everyone thinks is a must LOL, I made a poll in my members area and 4% said they wanted it, I thought I would try it and see. I wanted it to stream

You do not understand my question and I have not done a very good job at asking it,
|
First you download the player. The player will be called something like flvplayer.swf
Put the player in the same folder as your .flv file Use the code as follows: <embed src="flvplayer.swf" width="640" height="320" allowfullscreen="true" flashvars="&displayheight=320&file=mymovie.flv&hei ght=320&width=640&autostart=false" /> I think the setting in the above code are self explanatory Upload and voila - flash movie!! |

so if the customer has flash installed it will be able to load the player that will stream the video to them, nothing else needs to be downloaded |

thank you 13 and 14. A simple reply for people who know what they are doing. I will not forget this. Others just like to waste time and act smart.

Looks good :thumbsup

If you use Dreamweaver there's plenty of embedded players already intalled. Just "insert flash" and you are almost done.
|
I see your movie comes up black.
If you make a screen capture of your movie and make it the same width and height as you specify in the embed code you can have the pic show up before the movie starts. Just add this : &image=YOURPIC.jpg in the embed code (usually before the last &width element) |
doesn't the adobe have a capture first screen to make the first image
|
Is this the new free Adobe Flash Encoder that you are talking about or the commercial Flash CS3 Pro version.
|
I'm talking about the one that came with Flash 8
Starpimps - I dont know of it has that feature or not - I cant see it anywhere in the settings. |
damn that sucks man, im using on2 flix
its really easy to use..does the capture first image (it would be a bitch to manually cap the first frame of the video) |
I am using CS3, I didn't see anything about the capture but noted it. Thanks for that code to add the pic, I'm sure that would help people click on it for sure
