They are talking about legalizing marijuana in Canada. Wich means you would be able to buy it a convenient store with your beer and cigarettes. If it happens, who is going to sell it?! Tobacco companies?

In Ontario you can't buy beer or any kind of alcohol from a convenient store anyways.. I wonder what the minimum age they'd put on it would be.. And would parents get in trouble for "exposing" their children to it?

Sounds like a great idea.

Seems like millions of people are smoking pot, and all that money is non-taxed, underground sales.
Plus you spend countless dollars with drug busts and jailing people for selling pot.

If the government sells it, they at least make money and you can be sure your buying real weed.
Many kids die each year from buying "fake weed" from these lowlifes who hang out downtown.

I could write more and more but don't feel the need or importance in trying to convince anyone here.
There is really no reason not to legally sell it.

I watched a new magazine (CTV Newsnet) that said under yesterdays proposal, anybody over the age of 16 could legally possess marijuana for personal consumption without prosecution.

I like the odd bit of herb just as much as the next person, but this is just wrong .. Ottawa is only interested in how much they can make by taxing the pot smokers ... stupid fukkers !!

16??? That's nuts, how they could make it three years less than CIGARETTES is beyond me. They think about it for the last 50 years and then make it SIXTEEN? Fuuuuck.. I don't think it's too young, but I can't believe they'd take that stance..

It wont happen anytime soon because the USA would flip out and shut down the border. It is a great way to force the USA to make concessions though on things like the Lumber industry etc in exchange for us not legalizing our #1 cash crop just yet...

Yup. I don't see it happening period. As much as I advocate it's legalization and eventual re-establishment as an industry, we as a species just aren't smart enough to figure out that it would be a step in the right direction not just for all the potheads out there, but also the jobs that would be created. Over 35,000 different products can be made from Hemp and Hemp byproducts.

Fuck, the cords on George Bush's parachute were made of hemp when he had to bail out of his fighter plane for chrissakes, the declaration of independance is written on Hemp Paper! FUCK I could go on and get all worked up but there's no point. We as a society are too wrapped up in all the wrong things and have been believing the lie for more than half a century, do you honestly think that everyone's view on weed will suddenly change because it's legal in Canada? It won't happen so you can all just put your bongs away...

I'm usually the optimist when it comes to things like this, but just because the bill or even the idea was put before Parliament, doesn't mean it will ever go into effect, no matter HOW good an idea it is, no matter how intelligent, sensible, economically, morally, environmentally, socially and medically beneficial the legalization of weed would be, some fucking idiot with the foresight of a blind shrew will keep it from happening.

Too many industries stand to lose too many profits if Pot and Hemp became an industry again it is cheaper, stronger and uses no harmful chemicals in it's production. DuPont, the world's leading producer of textiles would be CRUSHED if this were to come to pass... Hmmm... Ever wondered why Pot is illegal in the first place? Who could have had anything to do with it...

Would the tobacco thugs embrace this product and stop tobacco production in exchange for weed cultivation and manufacture? Fuck no! Weed's not addictive in the sense that cigarettes are, so fuck that noise, they want to make their 5 billion dollars this quarter...

All I'm trying to say is that it aint gonna happen, we're not that smart.
