i've boiled it down to this. people who don't or can't go to the shows, or live in areas to get to know people on a face to face basis are the ones that are BRO envy towards those who do. i still want to find out how to be a bro. do they take applications somewhere so i can apply?

I don't think it's envy, I just think it's a funny way to categorize people and how they act on the boards. I think "bro" is when someone blindly trusts everything someone does simply because they've either met them or done business with them in the past. If someone posted a video of themselves burning a kitten alive, emphatically stated they did it, and had 5 witnesses sign a form saying they saw it take place, you'd still have people coming in saying "there is no way they could do this", "they are top notch", or whatever else is said. I think bro is just thrown around at those who are blinded by facts to make decisions for themselves.
The show thing kind of bothers me. I've never understood why people make it seem like if you don't attend shows you're a no one, or jealous. I can't speak for everyone, but most people here have no reason to attend shows. I don't brag about income or anything here, but I am a larger affiliate and in the top 5 of some of the larger programs out there. I've never had the desire to go to a show while I've even been offered free everything from programs I send traffic to. It's nothing against the industry or people who attend, I'm just not a guy who likes shows (actually quite scared of flying). When I do travel, it's usually to things I enjoy more such as checking out baseball parks and doing outdoors stuff. I think people would be surprised at how many people who make a lot of money in this industry, run popular websites, and don't attend shows or even post on message boards. And I'm not bashing shows, I'm just saying that I think it's a bad gauge of how successful someone is.
And you will never be considered a "bro". You are one of the most honest guys on the board and your opinions aren't swayed by personal relationships. You've called out people for shit they pull and defended unpopular positions when you felt it's right. I don't know you personally, but from seeing you post over the years, you are one of the few people on the board that I trust the opinion of when posted. I'd imagine you've gained the trust of others here as well considering every program you've touched has gotten huge.
