My bank pass got skimmed
 

For those who don't know what it is.
These assholes place this cardreader on top of the thing where put your pass in the atm.

Its a problem thats getting bigger and bigger in Amsterdam and other area's as well.

Its done by eastern european gangs (WOW what a surprise, who wouldve thought that).

Luckily in my case no money was taken from my account...yet..transactions still might appear in the coming 3 days buts its a small chance.

My pass got blocked by the bank really quick. The only shitty thing is i wont have a pass for 3 weeks and everytime i need money or if i need to make a transaction i need to go the bank :/

Behind me in the line at the bank was a guy who also got skimmed. You can imagine how much its happening then. The lady who helped my i was the 4th or 5th just today and thats just this bank.

I had my bank call me up last summer and tell me I had used my card on an ATM that had one of those card readers attached to it. Fortunately no money was taken and I went into a branch the next day and was given a new card.
Why would your bank make you wait 3 weeks to get a new ATM card?

Cant you notice some extra apparatus stuck on the front of the ATM machine or whatever?

Because its a fraud case and they need to investigate.

You know how it works. They could either send me a new pass tomorrow but first 20 different people need to sign 50 different papers etc and i have to wait 3 weeks for that.

Yeah, you can if you pay attention every time you use an atm. The thing is there are several different atms with several systems and eventhough i actually DO watch out for it it just still can happen. Who knows when it happened. Maybe it was raining and i was paying no attention, maybe i was drunk etc.

I dont know yet.

It is called a Lebanese Loop. They changed the fronts of all bank machines in the UK to stop this it ended up looking like they had all been tampered with.

Ah yeah, well thats a sucky thing to do to people. Bunch of low life cowards afraid to work a real job. I dont know why they can't capture them on video. At my banks ATM, there's at least 2 visible cameras, plus hidden one.. You can't pick your nose within 100 feet of my bank without being caught on tape, heh.

The biggest fraud I heard of was where a gang hired 5 empty shops in London and installed 5 fake card machines. You put you card in and it scaned it, you then entered your pin number which it stored. The machine would then tell the person that it was unable to give cash at present so the person removed the card and went to another machine.

They did it in high tourists areas and had the machines in place for over a month retrieving tens of thousands of card details and pin numbers.

Used to be a big problem in Denmark, they got away with millions was a Romanian gang. Now the ATMs are changed and most here have chip cards now.

That really sucks.
