Nice little epassporte scam
Heres a really good one from epassporte
1 you pay for goods on the internet 2 the transaction fails 3 you are then told its due to the fact that international cards are not accepted by this merchant 4 ok no biggy find another company that will accept the card heres the good one epassporte says theyre holding the money for 30 days unless they get a fax from the company to say theyre not going to claim the funds despite the fact that epassporte has been told action declined as stated to me on the phone by epassporte ... so they hold the cash for 30 days despite the fact the transaction was declined nice little money spinner as they hold the money and get the interest from it for 30 days never heard of this before but watch out people its a stinger when you only have enough there for the item you wanted now you have to wait a month or find the money from elsewhere |
|
yeah that happened to me when i found out that newegg doesn't support them ... but newegg was nice enough to send the fax, still took almost 2 weeks though
|
They get interest from it?

Happened to me just putting gas when I first got epass. One of the very few times I used epass to buy anything rather than just withdrawing funds.
The charge didn't go thru' at pump but epass held funds. epass said it was the gas station's fault, gas station said it was card's fault. I gave up and yeah about a month later the funds were released. :error |
had it happen to me also

Yeah I tried to buy something from Newegg last week. Had the same issue. Neweggs sucks. I've never had that happen before. I've paid car insurance, health insurance premiums, cable bills, phone bills, otehr stuff most bigger companies than fricken Newegg and they didn't have any issues with my virtual visa. Now I'm stuck waiting 30 days for my money. That's my biggest beef with epass. If this were my check card from Bank of America I'd get my money back after 3 days. |
happens to me all the time.
but my current problem with epasporte is this.. my card expired this month so i recieve a new one a couple weeks ago.as soon as i recieved my new card i cut up the old one and activated the new one. i tried to use it the next day.doesnt work anywhere.called epassporte and thye say sorry sir your new card will not work until next month....no mention of that fact anywhere on the papers they sent me with the new card. |

i had some merchant
still take $2 after it was declined and then say they wanted to see if the payment will go though |
I bought a camera via epassporte electron card (almost $1500). The merchant accidently charged me the wrong amount the first time he swiped the card... The second swipe was declined because of the hold (such as the one you are describing)... I called epassporte... the merchant faxed a letter on the company letterhead and epassporte lifted the hold. Fairly simple procedure... I have never had many issues with epass and the small inconveniences are greatly outweighed by the convenience... I have put thousands and thousands of dollars through my account.

This happens when the merchant declines the transaction since your ePassporte card is a debit card we have to hold the money or we would open up for fraud.
When you use your card at a merchant they ask us if funds are available and we put a hold on the money, they then have 30 days to process the transaction. If the merchant then decides to decline the transaction (Card issued in another country than you are in for example, this is why NewEgg declines our card) and don't notify us that we can drop the funds we have to hold it for 30 days cause thats the time they have to process the transaction. If we didn't do this fraudsters would use this as a way to steal. Your normal bank/credit card company drops the funds earlier but they know who you are and where to find you and normally you would already have a line of credit with them, so if the merchant process the transaction after 25 days they are certain to get their money bank. Most merchants will fax us the information we need so we can drop the transaction (signed letter with their letterhead stating they will not complete the transaction) If you need any assistance please email or ICQ me. Thanks Michael |

Not trying to bash epass. I'm just giving you my experience. |
Why does anyone even use them? It just makes no sense what so ever :helpme

I use them for some sponsors because they don't have Direct Deposit option. ARS has DD so I use that. Most others don't, my bank is 20 miles away and I don't really trust the local post office with anthing let alone a huge check. Wire transefers are at least $20. $20 X 52 weeks is $1040 a year. I don't even spend 1/4 of that transfering funds from Epass to my bank account. I can think of better things to spend $800 on than to spend it on wire transfer fees. |

dude, your epass account is not a ch bank... |

And i know this much but the bit your missing here is the fact YOU sent the declination according to your own supervisor so you send declined then expect us to get them to fax you your own declination ... good delay and as with all banks in the business of makinig money its just another way to hold onto the funds to earn interest from it .... same in every country |

Dude, I know epass is and that has nothing to do with my post. Now fuck off and leave the grown ups to discuss things, DUDE. |
