Big Brother

This is some boring ass shit. I dunno why you guys over there in Europe like this show so much.. It's airing here in the US on Showtime 2 and it's the most boring shit I've ever seen.

WTF who wants to listen to a bunch of idiots talking non stop.

Turboface 07-22-2007 01:05 AM

You're talking about the Big Brother 'After Dark' they have on Showtime for 3 hours each night. That's just there trying to get people that are into the actual show that is shown on prime time a couple times a week (and trying to get people to subscribe to their 24/7 webfeed).

If you don't watch the show Big Brother, then Big Brother After Dark will be of little interest to ya.

We've been following the drama on there this season and it's pretty good as far as reality shows go nowadays.

Trust me , there are lots of people who don't know what to do and are really bored after they came home from a 8 h work . So that kind of people is watching Big Brother

J. Falcon 07-22-2007 03:39 AM

Big Brother and reality tv in general is the dumbest creation ever. It boggles my mind that people can be stupid enough to feel entertained by these shows.

Digipimp 07-22-2007 03:48 AM

i saw amber naked tonight on big brother after dark

CarlosTheGaucho 07-22-2007 04:10 AM

http://www.swingersclubprague.com/im...ries/129_b.jpghttp://www.swingersclubprague.com/im...ries/139_b.jpg

We also owned bigbrother.com with a massive presentation of Big Sis until they stripped us off that in march this year.

CarlosTheGaucho 07-22-2007 04:29 AM

I'm european and have never heard someone say they liked Big Brother. As a matter of fact I've never watched a single episode. But perhaps you are right as I keep being surprised every day at how many idiots with too much spare time there are in this world...

Maybe you haven't and I also succesfully avoided that, but I can remember once I got out in to the common public social contact (that I ussually try to avoid) - I heard EVERYONE talking about reality show contestants (well here we had two contestors where Big Brother was the runner up in popularity), people were constatnly speaking about people I never heard of (and never even wanted to bother by brain with knowing them) all the time.

It is one of the most brilliantly monetized ideas as far as the founder guy keeps a fat share / license fee from every national mutilation.

It's also nothing too surprising that the concept works, the most primitive need is that people love to talk other people (well just take a look at some of the drama's in here every day).

And what is even more attractive is that with a Big Brother type of a show they can talk the people with anyone, because EVERYONE knows the contestants, it's like their virtual neighbours and seems also like many from the common audience can identify with the preciously picked mix of contestants that have to be attractive to the widest target audience (most of us won't fit in the consumer profile).

What I would do though would be an Extreme version of Big Brother (and not meaning sex) Just imagine putting in for example a black dude, a gay, a
muslim, a jew, a gypsy, a racist and a mormon or an orthodox christian - now that would be certainly more interesting.

What this show is about?

Scott McD 07-22-2007 06:07 AM

Big Brother is still HUGE here in the UK.

Although i do watch it sometimes, it really is shit.

This years BB has been a joke. A white chick got thrown out for saying the 'N' word, yet the blacks in the house have used it more than a few times, yet fuck all gets said or done about it...

I think we Europeans like it because ours aren't as staged or phony as your American version appears to be; ours are true reality shows, where they just stick a bunch of people in a house and set them real tasks, whereas the last time I saw yours, they each managed to get hold of enough make-up per day to re-do Planet Of The Apes, there was some host who kept walking into the house, and they were all blatantly aware they were on camera and were doing nothing more than trying to advance their potential acting career.

Point, point, point on all accounts. Great post:thumbsup

But I like the ending of your post best. :1orglaugh I'd surely watch that and I bet it wouldn't even last 4 months...Hell, I would be surprised if it lasted 3 weeks. But I could predict some of the drama: the black dude would either run away or pull out a gun, the orthodox will be all over the gay within seconds, the jew and the muslim would proceed to inflicting mind-numbing pain upon another in a tribute for tradition. But the the racist would have the hardest internal struggle, and I bet the gypsy would win in the end...these people can survive anything.

That's for sure, gypsies got 9 lives and can steal even the air you are breathing, anyway I would really want to see a fine mixture of the multi ethnic multi religious multi sexual drama, like if you put cats and rats into one box.

CIVMatt 07-22-2007 08:40 AM

I was expecting more nudity on the after dark

That's pretty much how it is in Australia now, BB 2007 (which is drawing to a close) is/was full of wannabe early 20's models... the one exception is the token "Outback Ocker Aussie" bloke (they have one every year) who is in his early 30s.

In the last series some of the contestants openly discussed about what they'd be doing in the entertainment industry once they'd left the house. :1orglaugh Oh well, I guess it worked, one of the chicks (who got fake boobs between her audition and entry) is now a B grade celeb.

There was a big fuss about big brother "uncut" last year - an adults only show where they feature clips showing full frontal nudity, frank discussions about sex, masturbation etc - so it was heavily censored and eventually axed. This year there is really only the daily show which airs at the family friendly time of 7pm, so there's probably a LOT the viewers don't ever see. The live streams are also heavily censored, often playing a video loop saying "we can't show you what's happening in the house right now"

I've been watching this series off and on, but not religiously... there are some good moments but really there's only so much that can happen in a house full of people with nothing to do except talk or do silly weekly tasks.

But honestly who wants to watch someone's boring life on TV? I don't actually watch much TV.. it's for the most part just on for background noise.

So even if I've seen a show a million times or if it's not real good.. I could care less.. However BB was so bad I couldn't stand it and had to switch the channel.

hmmmm you are very brave playing with that trademark ... you should milk the press while you can because they will take big sister off you eventually too - especially seeing you have a history of trying to breach their trademark with the bigbrother.com domain. They've been using 'big sister' in their advertising here in Australia a lot this season ...

I would doubt it, we have paid for the trademark "Big Sister" to be registered in the whole Europe and just about every subject of commerce, and I can tell it REALLY wasn't cheap, would the office let you trademark another trademark breaching brand? :winkwink:

I am not sure if we are also in Australia, but if we get in trouble in Australia, we will use alternate brand, same way as we will do with US where we can hardly use "Big Sister" unless we want to get in trouble with charity.

CarlosTheGaucho 07-23-2007 08:42 AM

Speaking about Australia, here is the cover of the 8 page report we had in the Australian Penthouse:

whole report available at:

Big Sis Press Room

if interested, just it's an older one and not everything accurate.

Don't you mean "Lil Sis"? That's just an official site character who is supposed to be a mid teens bopper (probably the target audience of BBAU), but I bet "her" articles are written by a middle aged male in the production team. :1orglaugh
