I love Canada.

its not even a real country anyway.

Its about time that governments start realizing that its no more harmful than alcohol.

They're Americans without guns.

I wish it would happen but it wont.. U.S. Gov will meddle and fuck it up. If they did legalize it imagine how much revenue and new jobs would be created. It would also put the revenue in our pockets instead of the terrorists who smuggle it into the states. There is a guy down south who is doing a life sentence for selling weed - not alot either. Imagine the money we piss away putting pot smokers in jail. It makes sense to legalize weed but politicians wont allow it :(

I'm curious here, if it were legalized, how would distribution be made? Do you think tobacco companies would jump on this right away or would this be considered a shady business like pornography?

Yeah, think about all the billions of dollars spent on enforcing these stupid laws and keeping people in jail.

That money could be spent on better education and health care.

Neither the US or Canadian government is winning their "war on drugs," its about time they realize the war was a stupid idea.

I wouldn't put too much faith in Canada legalizing Pot. Because no matter how good an idea it is, some fuckhead in Parliament will figure out a way to screw it all up. If it was legalized rather than decriminalized, people in this country who have been serving LIFE SENTENCES FOR SMOKING A FUCKING JOINT BACK IN THE 40'S will have to be completely exonerated and a proper restitution would have to be paid for ruining their lives under the "Opium and Narcotics Control Act" which was nothing more than a racist law put into effect to control the Chinese Immigrants that were building our fucking railroads.

That bill was expanded to include Cannabis under pressure from the States, who decided that fucking idiots like Harry Anslinger and his buddies in the DuPont and Hearst families were completely correct in all their rhetoric and utter bullshit about this innocuous little plant...

Can anyone tell me the REAL reason why pot was made illegal?

Hint: It doesn't have anything to do with it being "harmful" to you and everything with it being "harmful" to THEM...
