Is there still a market for "Erotica"???

Here's a little topic for my fellow Photogs et. al. to discuss, Erotica vs. Hardcore, which is more profitable? I personally have no desire to shoot girls shoving all manner of devices & inanimate objects up inside themselves, I still believe there is a market out there for a more "Gentlemanly" style of photography...

That's not to say that I won't be shooting some freaky stuff, but does it HAVE to all be hardcore, comeshot drippy shit? I'm not too worried about selling the content that I'll be shooting, as a matter of fact I already have a few buyers, but am I in a minority for having no real desire to shoot the gooey shit?

I guess sometimes it all just comes down to what the client wants, but as a professional, where do YOU draw the line?

I haaate hardcore. I love super softcore stuff -- and I'd prefer a photo series over a movie anyday. I think there is an audience for erotica. I know not every guy wants to see butt-ugly women spreading their legs and playing with themselves. There are still fans of women posing nude in an almost -- if not, non sexual manner.

I do everything from black & white "erotica" and "classic nudes" through solo girls masturbating and two girls having sex. I do not do anything with a guy in it. I think the female nether regions are as beautiful as the rest of her, and I see toys as female empowerment ("See, I don't need a guy to have fun").

Well, I have no problem shooting girls with "toys", I'm just talking other insertions i.e. Cucumbers, small animals, household appliances & furniture, etc.

I'd love to see some of your work! If you show me yours I'll show you mine...

That's pretty much all I'm going to shoot, just girls. I'm more interested in portraying the female form in all its glory than I am in shooting some guy getting laid...

I agree: that's the kind of stuff meant to degrade females and I'll have no part of it.

ICQ me and I'll set you up with a week pass to http://www.girlsdotcom.com. You can see the artsy-fartsy stuff at http://www.afterglow-photo.com

There is plenty of room for Erotica. The trick is finding the audience, because you won't get it in the places you get hardcore traffic.

That's why I plan on using brokers for the first few content CD's I produce
