I watch TV. Like alot of people. I see TV as social commentary. You want to see how sick society is... turn on the boob tube. I always have it on in the background. 95% of the time on MSNBC.

I watch alot of things I dont necessarily like. I like to watch how shows try and control and manipulate public opinion. Turn on MSNBC and watch the support of Israel and the coming war with Iraq. Does it mean I agree with it? Because I watch something or listen to something on tv does that mean I give tacit approval of it?

American Idol is sick. Its corporate whores in action. You can learn alot about a society by paying attention to what it watches and what it listens to. TV and mass media are the most powerful tools at the hands of those who wish to sway public opinion.

Whenever I talked about why Palestianians blow themselves up, or why someone would fly a jet into the WTC, people automatically assume I approve of it. Just because I dont like something does not mean I will not listen to it or watch it. There's a difference between watching shows and programs to see how stupid people really are and posting a poll about it, as in showing actual interest. I do it too, and you're right, it's fucking hilarious. Can't believe I'm admitting this, but I used to catch 7th Heaven every now and then. Granted, it was pretty sick, but it was so damn funny watching "good kids" act "bad" by calling their brothers "stupid". Funny shit.

Admittedly, some things are more painful to watch than others. I cant leave on BET or MTV for more than an hour without wanting to grab a gun and go rid the world of some teenagers.

But I can sit through 4 hours of Everybody Loves Raymond and the Trinity Broadcasting Networks Benny Hinn the Miracle Worker and laugh my ass off.

Once you realize what it is, it loses its desired effect.

There are people on here who watch MTV and let it influence them. They want to have an Escalade with 22 inch rims. They want the gold toof and the prerequisite bitches. They want to wear Fubu. They believe that the top 10 is the top 10 because it is obviously the best music there is. Mr. Bling was a prime example of what I am talking about. He said it perfectly... popular = good.

People believe the news. They believe the hype. They believe the president, they wear what advertisers tell them to wear.

The American people cannot think for themselves for the most part. They need to be told what is cool and what is not cool. What is good and what is evil. If they were not told, an American wouldnt have an opinion on anything.

I watch everything and take it in with a grain of salt. You can watch it and appreciate it for what it is. Some people cannot. And those people are called Americans.

I predict the person that loses tonight will have a bigger career than the person who wins.

They will both certainly have careers in the music industry.

I predict Kelly wins tonight, but by the end of next week Justin will have a bigger music contract than her.

#1 I used to drop acid and watch Benny preach, was fucking hilarious especially when he'd wave his arms and the entire audience would be "slain by the holy spirit."

I have seen Benny cure AIDS and homosexuality. Live on television. I swear if he comes to town I will see him. That guy draws larger crowds than Aerosmith and Dave Mathews combined.

I also love Pastor Rod Parsley and Pastor John Hagee. Those two will almost make you believe in evangelical christianity.

I've always maintained the winner of the show will have a shorter career than the second place finisher...the first will have the initial momentum, but also the added pressuer...sure, the first album is pretty well guaranteed to be a hit, but the sceond album? Unless they pull something amazing, they'll disapaer...the second place finisher won't have that pressure...

Back when I was a kid, I was friends with the son of an infamous Texas millionaire...T. Cullen Davis.

He was the OJ Simpson of the 70's...killed his stepdaughter, his wife's boyfriend and shot his wife...she identified him on the stand but yet he still was acquitted.

Anyway in the early to mid 80's he got religion and one night a bunch of us guys got together and spent the night over at their house...well Mr. Davis brought home Pastor Robert "Bob" Tilton.

This guy spent the night "healing" us...he would claim one arm or leg was longer than the other and he would pray and stretch it and then lo and behold they'd be the same length...all kinds of shit like that.

It's pretty embarassing to think that even at 14 or 15 I fell for that shit...LOL

Personally, I am surprised that the vote is that lop-sided. I think that Justin has got that star quality about him. He's definately getting the 13-21 year old girl vote.
