With more free porn out there now a days, and people flooding the markets. The piratebays, people porntubes, the dieing TGP model how do you think the next generations of porn websites will fair?
Even the micro niches are getting competitive. The level of quality in HD getting better. Also, with broadband getting faster, and less expensive, and availabilty growing,... more porn for less is on the horizon as people can buy a membership, download everything in a month, then do a chargeback, and move on to the next one... Obviously the good ole days of 97 are gone, but with the flood of free porn, and the mergers, or gobbling up of conglomerates on the horizon, how do you think the adult internet will look in 5 years? :helpme |
It will be a dead industry in 50 years. But there will be other, related ways of making money then. It won't be about the porn images or video at all. Nobody will pay for that. But in 5 years? I don't think things will change a lot.

Sex will always be a high commodity. With more and more people having broadband capabilities, it just means more people checking out your site for the first time. HD will be the way to go but currently we are happy with SD and maybe 5 years from now make the HD change. I just dont see how its going to be dead in 50 years unless xxx gets banned or virtual girl comes alive and I can take her home!
I also heard that HD is old stuff, they got something better in the works. |

However the business model, and being able to recoup expense on generating new material will have to change somewhat as more noobs try and make riches on the web. If people are ripping off years of material from websites due to broadband, and file sharing shit. It will make it harder for new material to keep generating ROI. I know I personally have read over the past say... 2-3 years... a number of smaller sites who've went out of business due to no longer being able to compete, and their market share going down. The $30 memberships are nice, and a lot of people think it's better to lower the membership and sell on volume, but even then some of that will eventually fade. I get e-mails from people time to time that tell me this (and I always laugh), "Why would I pay for a membership to your site(s) when I can get the same, or better for free anywhere on the web".. :1orglaugh |
