Damian_Maxcash 07-17-2007 07:32 AM

Star 69 07-17-2007 09:17 AM

Cutting edge!!!

ztik 07-17-2007 09:36 AM

Thats a nice server

rowan 07-17-2007 10:40 AM

Damn, I was looking at caronet recently, this offer is seriously making my mouth water. I'm currently paying the same monthly price for a 2 year old P4 3.4GHz / 2GB RAM / 250GB hw RAID1 IDE / 2500GB transfer

rowan 07-17-2007 11:27 AM

How many IPs does this server include and how much are extras? Couldn't find the info on your order page...

OG LennyT 07-17-2007 11:31 AM

looking good

Snake Doctor 07-17-2007 11:33 AM

Looks nice, unfortunately you don't mention anything about bandwidth prices, either here or on your site. That's the biggest part of the hosting bill for most webmasters.

The OP says there's 2000GB transfer included... do you mean additional bw?

Yeah, and who measured BW in gigs transferred anymore?

Some people want it that way, I personally prefer metered gigs rather than banging my head on a capped ceiling. If you're concerned about exceeding the limit then ask for a 10Mbps port, or set up software rate limiting on your server. :)

Hello Rowan,

The server normally comes standard with two IPs but I am aware that you would want more so I will be sending you a IP Justification form. We comply with the ARIN guidelines for allocation of IPs, so lets get that checked out for you.

If you login to the order system and start processing through it you will see most of the common add on's pricing and you can just cancel out if you decide to before confirming the order.

Hello Lenny2,

Well we can certainly provide it to you measured almost anyway that you would like. We currently have about 20 Gigs of lit pipe from multiple providers so bandwidth availability is not an issue, especially considering that our current utilization is less than 50%.

We offer the Gb measurements to the majority of customers because that is what is still the most common for most people. One interesting fact that I think you will like is that we measure that BW utilization on the average which delivers a significantly greater value than all of those 95th percentile measurements.

We can certainly bill based on the Mbps if you like too and we offer both 10 and 100 unmeterd plans as well. Please note that all of our servers are connected to our core network through 100 Mbps ports and we have 1 Gig ports available for those who need or want them.

Our network hosts and supports traffic for some of the following names that may be familiar to you:
AEBN
Playboy
XonDemand
NakedSword
In addition we have very close relatioinships with some mainstream companies doing large streams across our network as well.

The bottom line is Lenny hit me up and we can discuss what ever you might be interested in and I am confidnet in our ability to provide anyone with a quality infrastructure that will give them the peace of mind to focus on the areas of their business that can really yield an increase to their ROI!:thumbsup

TzarJorge 07-17-2007 03:16 PM

How much is the extra traffic?

tranza 07-17-2007 03:27 PM

Looks awesome!!

TzarJorge 07-17-2007 04:44 PM

Sorry but I have lots to keep me busy and the important thing is that while Sales may not be 24/7 Support certainly is.

How much extra traffic would you be searching for? Billed in what manner, Gb's or Mbps? What hardware would you be serving up from? All of these questions are reviewed in the way we develop our billing. For the product and value we deliver we are very competitive but the rates certainly are not the same for someone pushing a 1000 Gb as someone pushing 50,000 Gb.

In closing while I will continue to monitor this thread if you are looking for quick responses then please contact me directly through any of the options in my signature.

Thanks in advance for your interest.:thumbsup

LOL. I'm using about 150mbps on one server right now, I don't need a "capped" anything, however those of us who use substantial bandwidth stopped counting "gigs" a long time ago.

That's what I was trying to get at in my previous post, people who use alot of bandwidth want the price in mbps, not gigs or a capped line. It's the only way to compare apples and apples.

$300 is a nice price for that server, but it's meaningless if the included bandwidth is only 1mbps or the bandwidth overages are $50+ per meg.
