US army officer puts 'solution to Iraq war' on eBay

Among the bootleg albums, second-hand golf clubs and bargain linens on Internet auction site eBay, lot 150141399174 is perhaps more likely to attract the attention of the Pentagon.
"A Solution to the War in Iraq," is being offered by a US Army intelligence officer fed up with the conflict and anxious to attract some attention to what he says is a viable and face-saving solution to the four-year-old conflict.

"I am offering the winning bidder the solution to the war in Iraq," the seller, identified as "cptnabil," says in the bid.

"This is not a flippant or facetious offer... If you are the high bidder, I will send you a viable solution to the conflict in which we are currently engaged," the seller wrote.

The New York Post on Monday identified the seller as Army Captain Thad Krasnesky, who describes himself on eBay as a US Army military intelligence officer with an extensive background in the Middle East.

"I speak the language and understand the culture, history, and religion, well enough to construct a fair, honorable, and successful plan."

Cptnabil says he served in both the Gulf War and Iraq in military intelligence and had been involved in planning over 400 combat operations ranging from "terrorist cell take-downs to single-handed arms market raids."

"I disagree with the way the war is being handled," Krasnesky told The Post. "I think we're doing some good things over there but I think the end result is going to be bad."

Cptnabil did not immediately respond to email requests from AFP to confirm his identity.

Among potential bidders were senators, congressmen or possible presidential candidates, cptnabil wrote, suggesting to aides: "Maybe you should get everyone at the office to chip in and purchase my solution for them."

The lot comes with a buy-it-now price tag of five million dollars and if not sold will go to the highest bidder when the auction ends on Sunday.

The top bid around midday Monday was 20.50 dollars from a buyer whose most recent other bids were for gun parts, knives and military memorabilia.

A competing buyer had recently bid for women's shoes and unidentified body piercing accessories.

The iraq invasion was just for money
America should just give up on wanting to keep being the number 1 in world economy... it'll end soon, even if theyd invade all countries they can think of

Here's a solution:

Move every US/British troop out of Iraq tomorrow. Stop arming Sunni militias (yes, that's what they're doing now, and those groups are still killing us)

Set up massive, livable refugee camps in friendly neighboring countries (Kuwait, Saudi Arabia). Allow every and any Iraqi access to these refugee camps along with food, water, medicine.

Let the extremists kill each other.

Encourage and fund the creation of secular political parties among the refugees. Train as many men as possible to be serious police officers.

Now you have a situation where the radicals aren't being supported by the general public out of fear of the occupiers. The refugees will be able to put pressure on and influence whatever government takes hold. Within 15 years Iraq will be a legitimate secular democracy.

Unfortunately, this is not what our government and the corporations who run it want. They want (and actively fuel) sectarian violence because they want to break up Iraq into three countries, so they can divide and rule. Our powers that be will never give Iraq's resources to the people in Iraq, no matter how many American lives it costs, no matter how much they have to rob from the American tax payer. The only way to stop this is to put the fear of the people back into the government, but we watch WAY to much TV for that to ever come close to happening.

Basically, we're fucked. The new democratic leadership in '08 are going to try to come in and look like heroes, bringing in the UN to divide up the country and bring "peace". Of course, it's all a scam and we're all fools because we pay for it.

We have already been defeated. It's obvious that our stated goal is never going to be achieved.

However, that doesn't mean we're going to leave any time soon. The people in the US don't have any say in this matter, it's nothing like Vietnam. They have total control over us, anyone who thinks differently is just too afraid to look at reality. We have no control over our government. Every four years they put two assholes who say the exact same thing in front of us, and we're stupid enough to believe we live in a democracy. We're not going to leave until Iraq is broken up into three micro states who own billions to the WB and IMF. This war is less about oil than it is about global capitalist hegemony.

You don't know what you're saying. They're dying for FREEDOM!

Well that kinda makes it a moot issue, but if he had sold it, I have a feeling the gov't would have gotten the money in that he is a gov't empoyee selling military related information... kinda weird..... kinda...
