Yahoo, I'm an "Earth & Beyond" beta tester !
 

Yeah, after about a few weeks of waiting, I've been accepted into the world of "Earth & Beyond" http://www.earthandbeyond.com as a beta tester.

I've heard good things from the previews of this game, so I'm hoping that it's gonna be good. It's a huge open online game, but it's setting is space, so you get to customize your spaceship and stuff. The neat thing about it is that you can gain experience by exploring and stuff like that, I can't wait to get it going. I have an 800 meg file to download, it's going really slow now. I'll let all of you know how it goes.

It should keep you out of trouble for a while anyway :thumbsup

Hey man, I'm sorry to hear that. I think that it's been close to one month for me, I actually thought that they forgot about me there until just today when I lucked out and they picked me.

Hopefully they'll do what Anarchy Online did, and throw it open to everyone who signed up for the beta a week before it's official release - at least that way I'll find out in advance if I need to prewarn my girlfriend about the lack of future attention she's gonna get, as with Everquest :thumbsup

looks like a cross between Homeworld and Privateer. If they can mix in Master of Orion, it will be an awesome game.

I have been playing for about a month in Beta and I love the visuals the game has more paths to get experience then EQ does, I stopped playing for awhile when I got dragged back into EQ but I think I might go in every once in awhile.

As far as the beta goes if you want in right now, you can pre-order the game and they will automatically let you in, and you will be able to carry over your Beta character from two weeks before they go live. In other words they are going to character wipe two weeks before they go live and not the day before per the norm. So some will get to buy a headstart if you buy early! Great way to get their presells up in my opinion.

It's a GREAT game... I've been testing since phase 2. They whiped our charactures about 2 weeks ago.... BOY WAS I PISSED! I was a level 75 Progen Warrior... DAMN IT! Ok... creating new characture tonight... lol :)

If you dont like the game, cancel your order, up until 09-24, you keep the beta acct. =)

hahahaha You guys waited for weeks? All you have to be is a FilePlanet member. They are letting me Beta Test Earth and Beyond and AC2 I have been doing so for about a week now. Not that impressed with the combat of EandB personally. Pretty basic. The quest system is cool though. AC2 has caught my attention. I am a long time Everquest player and have noticed some changes in the way things are done on AC2 that I really like in comparasion to EQ.

Master of Orion rocked! I always played the insect species, high productivity and small ships = massive swarm attacks.

I've read the specs for EAB... I hope they have a lot of Tradewars-like elements in the game.
