Anyone from or been to Lexington Kentucky???
 

was planning n taking a trip to Lexington in August for the Keenland car show and would hit up the civil war sites and some other sightseeing spots...any recommendations, is a week enough time? how is downtown lexington???

any info, good or bad would be appreciated....thanks in advance.

downtown is pretty small, not much to do other than a few clubs and hotels

if you like horses there is plenty to see and do, but other than that it is a pretty boring town overall....glad to have moved away and usually don't go back unless I have to

OH MAN, r u serious??? I spent like 3 hours today reading all about Lexington and how its changed now....big social scene, parks, the history, the sights to see, and "horse capital of the country"...plus the car show....

i thought it was up and coming and good singles scene.... maybe will head to Charleston, SC than....

yes, it is growing, and fast...but that always has been the case

it is a nice town, don't get me wrong, but it isn't exactly the swinging city of the south...but as with any town, it is as fun as you make it, and 12 years was a bit much for me...LOL

I live outside Louisville.
I been to lex many times.
I used to date a girl over there and frequent to keeneland all the time.
Downtown is small. But it is a flashy kinda town.
Granted, I haven't been there at night in a few years.
But downtown is all lite up..with white lights on the trees and sorts..
Kinda like Christmas.
If you have time. You may want to take time to go to Ky Horse Park, not far from Keeneland or the airport.
Lexington is big..but spread out as well.
Beautiful area..especially out on the west end of town..where all the horse farms are. Lexington is a RICH town.

nick from pinkworld lives in lexington, he runs their local gay rights activist club.

by the way, out of curiosity, if you know or if anyone knows, how much does a nice 1br apartment rent for in Lexington?

I was in Lexington in mid-May for a wedding. Great place.

Very countryish, very green. Horse country - I highly recommend it.

A nice one bedroom isn't going to cost you much, maybe $700 - $750.

i live about an hour oustide of lexington near cincinnati........to answer a couple of ?'s.....

You can get a really nice one bedroom for $700.

Def!! Hit up the Horse Park.....a couple of me and my girlfriends were just talking about that last night.

Up my way is the Underground Railroad Museum....I think that actual name is like Freedom Center or something.

Best Strip Club in Lexington -- Cowboys! and the owner of the club owns is own car club too.

thanks for info. i have been thinking of maybe trying to sublet a place for a month or 2 now that my father is most likely not going to make it. Looking to possibly move since i am tired of NYC....I will definitely checkout the underground RR museum...thanks again.
