How in the hell do you break into your own PC's password login?
 

My friend was using it and put a pass on the damn thing and I can't get onto it now. lol

Help! :helpme Yeah, I would just ask him but he's out of town working with no cell and I don't want to call his boss..... it's not an emergency, I would just like to get on it.

It's no rush, it's an older POS but I wanted to use it as back-up.

Well, the easiest way is to enter Safe Mode, there should appear an Administrator account that, by default, has no password. After you're in Safe Mode it's a simple matter of changing the pass of your account.

If you can't find an account that has no password, there are ways to boot off a CD that will allow you to reset the password. You'd need access to another computer to set this up, of course.

You can use Hirens boot utils to change password.

Download this ISO, burn to CD and boot PC from CD then look in menues for Util to set pass.

You can boot into safe mode. Then go to Run. Type control userpasswords2

Then remove require password to logon tick. Reboot. :)
