Sigbritt will now be able to enjoy 1,500 high definition HDTV channels simultaneously. Or, if there is nothing worth watching there, she will be able to download a full high definition DVD in just two seconds.

The secret behind Sigbritt's ultra-fast connection is a new modulation technique which allows data to be transferred directly between two routers up to 2,000 kilometres apart, with no intermediary transponders."

That's all in theory, no server allows such download speeds. She'd probably download only at the speed of a good ADSL at most times.

If your server is on a gig port, and your server has a gig network card (or even not), and your connection is clean to that server from your 75 Gig connection.. you are going to do some damage to that servers MRTG.. trust me. Much more than DSL hehe

And she probably pays $2/Gb - so much for retirement!

MRTG works in 5 minute averages, if she's downloading with serious speed, she wouldn't spike it for long, if it all.

you are correct, it would have to be a seriously huge file

but if the server only had 100Mbit, she could saturate that segment if there were no controls.. IP throttles, Proxypass..etc

the funny thing is.. there is no damn storage device to take the data this fast, so whats the fucking point?

You are not even going to get 1gb/s sustained throughput to a harddisk, let alone more than 4...

At some point bandwidth just gets too much.
