Returning Home To A Dead Pet
Suxs Ass (and not in the fun way).
I got home last night from a long weekend to find Mr. Canoli, aka 'Big Guy', senior member of my Anole gang has been sent to the Big House in the sky. He follows his life long lady Mrs. Canoli who passed a few months back, and they are survived by her brother Mimo 'The Anole' Canoli, now in charge of the familia way. La pace è con voi fratello. |
What type of animal was it?
|
My heart goes out to you.
|
Condolences on losing a pet, to me they are family.

Ouch.
Dead pets is a touchy thing. :( |
that sux, cheshire, sry to hear that...
i 'killed the kitten' twice today if it's any consolation ? =-/ |
thanks kman ~ that makes me feel a little better...
|
Even worse is when you come home and one pet has eaten another. I used to have 4 bearded dragons. It got down to one prety quick. Nasty bastards.
Always buy healthy, adult lizards. |
oh ouch!
Mimo set down the law one night and put out one of Big Guy's eyes, but eating the other one? That's harsh. |

If I could have done it over, I would have bought two mature adults. They would already be weaned on a mixture of greans, pellets, and live food. And they would have gotten past the perils of youth. Those suckers can be pretty damn hardy when they become mature. Rather plump, and somewhat cuddly - if they have been handled frequently as they grow older. (John Wayne has always been very aggressive, though). I have heard that mature females can have problems if they don't breed - so I guess mature males are the safe way to go. |
Thats a shame Cheshire! I'd send you our cat to make up for it, but you'd just send him back with your medical bills from where he tore you apart. :) Lizards are neat to watch.
------------------------ what? i cant kill a kitten without thinking about you ppl? sheesh As for YOU, get back to work! :1orglaugh |
Sorry, Cheshire.
:( I had anoles with I was a kid. However, any terrarium/aquarium/cage animal I ever had died fantastically quickly. I kill plants, even. Somehow, my cats have always survived, though... Lucky thing. |

He probably passed on Saturday, although it's difficult to say as he was directly under the heat lamp that's on a timer to be on several hours of the day. By the time I found him his the orbs of his eyes had sunken to the point of appearing completely hollow and empty, and his skeletal system was clearly visible through his thin layer of dehydrated skin. Any meat would have been useless Pornopete. But hell if that wasn't good for a laugh, huh? :1orglaugh |

does that make me a bad person? :( |
Sorry about your little friend. :(

Cheshire, don't get a cat. My cat is responsible for killing every animal we have ever had in the house, including and especially lizards. There isn't a rodent (mouse, rat, rabbit, etc.), bird, or any other living creature within a mile radius of my house. She leaves them on the doorstep as presents for me. |

Cheshire, that sucks...
Please give my regards to the remaining Canole falmilia, I'll send a nice wreath of crickets... I had an iguana named Merlin and my roommate had a cat named Confucious. Merlin was fast, Confucious was faster... It sucks to lose a pet... But ya know darlin' there's always a bright light at the end of the proverbial tunnel, as long as you've got THE D (John Kricfalusi is a GOD.) |
Bummer Chesh. Very much a bummer.
You can come pet my dog anytime you want though. :D |

my cats Sly, Muffin and Spooky want to meet the entire Canole family...
I don't like animals that eat each other, it's nasty. At least cats and dogs won't eat each other unless they're dying of starvation lol I had a couple hamsters once and one of them got caught by one of the cats and apparently had his spine severed or something so he couldn't feel pain in his rear portions. I found a couple of the other hamsters eating his back legs while the hurt hamster was eating food from the bowl in front heh... at that point I just wanted to feed them all to the cats. Now I have a roommate who has two bigass snakes, and I'm debating matching them up against Buster the over friendly pit bull in a fight to the finish. I'm not big on snakes and I'm not sure Sly could take them, but I bet Buster could :) |
"platy fry?"
heehee. not YOU silly. platy fry are baby platies, a very prolific freshwater tropical fishie. |
