C_U_Next_Tuesday 07-14-2007 12:49 PM

Looks like "the wave"..a really intense place in UTAH where all the rocks (different color) are formed like that. It's hard to get a permit to get in there.. have to book almost a year in advance.

Sexxy Blue 07-14-2007 12:56 PM

I need some art now.

xNetworx 07-14-2007 04:34 PM

For 15k I hope those are originals and not limited edition prints. If not, that is fucking pricey for prints.

I'm eating Olives...... NOOOOIIIICCCCEE ;-)

The Duck 07-14-2007 04:40 PM

I'd guess they are originals. I love those pieces. Good buy.

crockett 07-14-2007 04:40 PM

Kinda crazy.. I actually did an oil painting of this same place when I was younger..

http://www.peterlik.com/images/15/PIC18BABCOCKMILL.jpg

NOTR 07-15-2007 08:43 AM

Wanted to buy some last week when I was there. 25k for 1 out of 1000 prints didn't impress me.

i got a sofa, 2 chairs a sculpture and 3 prints (1 out of 950 each) for 15k

NOTR 07-15-2007 08:53 AM

funny how every person in this thread agrees and likes it but you.

tells me allot about your age and maturity.

im guessing 16 and just got your lerners permit so you can drive to school and back with mommy and daddy.

you couldnt even afford a decent piece, and here you are complaining about soemthing you havent a clue about.

pathetic. sad. and what a joke

Uhm.......

FYI: You're talking about the works of one of the most recognized contemporary photographers of our time.

D 07-15-2007 12:20 PM

Did you buy it in Laguna yesterday?

I saw his display at the festival, too... really cool stuff.

D 07-15-2007 12:24 PM

This is the artists that got most of my cash yesterday. He's one of my favorite modern surrealists:

Can you not see the fish?

I collect art and love visiting galleries. The wonderful thing about art is that you can truly get immense pleasure out of it whilst seeing a potential asset (or heirloom) increase in value.

PD, Im sure I dont need to remind you but make sure you name these as individual items on your insurance. Oh and congrats on the purchases, and the pleasure you are deriving from them.

The artist's name is Johann Ulrich. My girlfriend introduced me to the artist 3 years ago.

Not a lot on the net about him - I think he shies away from putting his art up in a medium he can't affect.

He comes to the Laguna Art Festival annually... if you're unfamiliar, it's actually a collaboration of 3 or 4 different fesitvals in Laguna Beach that run at the same time all Summer long. That's where I saw his stuff (along with what I thought was a Lik display - maybe it was an influenced artist - very similar photography, if not) right before we hit the Pageant of the Masters - a showcase of live art (one word - "wow")

Was my first time attending the event... very impressive. More quality pieces than I've seen in any Art Festival before... and then there as the Pageant, which is worth it, itself. I'll certainly go back next year, if not before.

I believe it's going on until the end of August.
