One of my best friends has died

My girlfriend just phoned me 20mins ago crying to tell me the news.
My good friend Colin has passed away. We don't know the cause of the death yet. He was only 25.

I just can't believe this.

This will ruin his girlfriend. I can't even think how she is gonna cope with this. They were such a lovely, well suited couple who had everything going for them.

I am dreading having to go see her.

I'm outta here for a while... :(

Ross 07-14-2007 09:55 AM

I only met Colin once, and he was really friendly to me. Seemed like a good guy and from what you say he was a great guy.

RIP Colin.

Deej 07-14-2007 09:55 AM

ouch...

take wine and tissue...

Sorry to hear :Oh crap

amacontent 07-14-2007 09:56 AM

Sorry for your loss, but why do people post deaths on GFY ? This is something personal. Its not like its a community figure everyone from GFY know. Do people do it to promote thier sigs, if not why dont they disable their sigs for this post.
Not to sound heartless but things like this need to remain personal. Not on a webmaster buisness board. Not that much biz is posted here anymore.

jaysmoke 07-14-2007 09:56 AM

god bless

Fine so send an email to the few people who knew him or call them. I think its ghoulish to post peoples death here in a webmaster forum.

Some of you people really need to grow up. Things like this are posted because someone is home alone....in shock/disbelief...need to "say" it somehow. They do it in a moment of despair. If you don't like it, stay out of the thread...the title clearly states what the thread is about. This board is full of rude, inconsiderate pricks.

As for Scott, sorry about your friend. His family and friends should all lean on each other and you will get through it together. :(

I couldnt agree more. Random acts of kindness really needs to be preformed by more humans in this world. Fucking computer allows some of you dipshits to say whatever you want without any reprecussions...damn shame

Somebody with a brain.

I'm sure Scott sees a lot of people as friends on here - what do you do when something bad happens - you tell your friends.

Like he said, a few people here knew Collin. That is pretty rude what you wrote, maybe he just needs to get his feelings out there. Maybe post here helps him feel better and helps him to move on.

Either way, that was rude of you.

Sorry for your loss, but seriously, if they were that close to him, why wouldn't you have their contact information? I wouldn't be posting deaths on a board called Go Fuck Yourself ever. Just seems really shallow, or you seriously have no other way to express your feelings. :disgust

shermo 07-14-2007 01:43 PM

Sorry to hear about your loss. Take some time off and really cope with this. My deepest sympathies go out to you, and his loved ones.

Irony alert.

Its 'suppose' - not supose.

What's should be hyphenated.

Before lecturing others on their mistakes, you might want to take a refresher course yourself.

SilentKnight 07-14-2007 01:51 PM

Scott, my condolences on the death of your friend. Sad news.

Dirty Dane 07-14-2007 01:52 PM

What the fuck planet are you from? You're are WAY out there.

Just the fact that you thought of disabling a signature when you saw a post about someone dying makes you completely insane.
