That's actually a very good idea breeder!

Why not buy a bottle of Bordeaux with a vintage of his birth year?

You could cook him dinner and enjoy the bottle together with family, then have the cork framed as a memento of the evening.

Could be very nice. :thumbsup

First findout what type of alcohol he likes. I love scotch and bluelable is what I love. but some guys prefer single malt, some prefer different blends. So its important you findout what he likes.

Plus why not send him on a day trip, may be he could go hangout with your mom, visit some place he likes, ect. Thats what I did for my dads birthday. they went on a wine tasting trip, then got massages, then had a great romatic dinner that night, just two of them and he loved every bit of it.

If you mom is annoying then he might want time alone :D, so make sure you findout what he really likes to do
